Called and said he was from WWR&Associates. A Greg Moroney from a debt litigation firm. He called my work and said he was going to serve me papers. Total scammer, I don't owe any money to anyone.

Person named "Greg" called a relative of mine to say that I'd been in a Class Action Suit and they needed to talk to me.  Asked for my address and / or phone.  Relative refused to give info.
SCAM:  I have never been involved in a Class Action Suit.

Obviously some of these replies are people trying to defend their corrupt company.  They called about a relative of mine and threatened me personally and said they would not go away until my relative paid the bill.  They are bottom-feeders making a living off of threatening other people illegally.  Do NOT assist these people in any manner, they are the lowest of the low and prey on the families and unfortunate people trying to make a living while paying for medical expenses, credit cards, etc.

Why don't YOU get something straight.  Making terroristic threats is illegal as well.  Also, discussing a relative's debts without the debtor's consent is also illegal.  I can see that these websites must be causing you trouble and I am glad because I always pay my debts, but there are hardworking people having a tough time and the last thing they need is some criminal harassing them.  Why don't you guys get off your butts and get real jobs like the rest of society.  You're just a bunch of lazy bums.  By the way, to others out there, don't believe ANY of their threats, they are too lazy to pursue anything legally and just focus on people who are intimidated easily and will send money simply out of fear.

These guys are total scammers and are debt buyers who are essentially ex-cons and criminals.  Will try to get your checking account number or try to have you send them money western union.  Ask them to mail you a statement or an address to mail a payment.  I'll bet you they won't do that but if they do, please post what they sent you on this website.  There are a lot of people investigating them and the information would be useful in court proceedings.  Also known as worldwide recoveries and other aliases.  Of course, if you talk to them once, they will keep calling incessantly.  Hopefully their days are numbered.  Just look how they reply to these posts, obviously uneducated idiots who talk the same on the phone as the do on these posts.

If you actually DID do some investigating, please tell us their collections license number and specific address.  An investigator from my state's department of commerce called these people and they refused to cooperate and hung up on him.  I encourage all others to do the same and actually get something written on paper as to where they expect the money to be sent (besides Western Union).  If you do get the info (which is very unlikely), please call your state's department of commerce as they likely have an ongoing investigation going on right now.  These guys days are numbered.

I always thought ligit companies didn't discuss other peoples problems with anyone. I share a desk with a guy at work that received this call.  They left ME a voicemail asking me to call them back. When I did I received someones direct VM box that wasn't that of the original caller.  THEN they called me AGAIN! So I returned the call, they were claiming they needed to get info on my companies "policies and procedures".  But did NOT specify for what.  When I called back this time, someone answered and they proceded to tell me about a lawsuit against my fellow employee, including a case number to referrence etc. WTH?! I am NOT this guys boss, I am NOT HR, I am just a fellow employee.  To me a ligit company leaves NO info about anyone else, regardless.  They try to tell me they are trying to reach someone in HR, but refuse to allow me to give them the number.  Then they tell me that they will wait until Monday before serving him papers at work.  Whatever.

Hey idiot I have no debts, and whatever they make they do it through extortion and terroristic threats.  I assume you are one of them as well.  The reason I feel the need to inform people about these scammers is the fact that they harassed me for months about a relatives debt which I had no connection with.  You guys were even stupid enough to leave threatening messages on my answering machine telling me "I didn't know who I was messing with" (remember me know?).  I certainly hope you guys DO make a lot of money, because when my attorney is done with you I'm going to get every penny possible out of you.  I really couldn't care how much money you make, you are all a bunch of scumbags that terrorize innocent people because you are way over you heads after buying the debts from legit companies who had already written them off.  Your time will come, and right soon.

I'm in hell right now dealing with these people. I will admit I have debt. I have had medical issues since 2005 and managed to pay my bills until 2007 when I finally lost my last job. I'm in a position where I can slowly start cleaning up my past debt and find out I'm being sued.

Brandon whom I spoke with trying to make a payment arrangement with told me he couldn't help me unless I could pay the entire debt that day or I'll go to jail. When I told him that was unrealistic and he apparently wasn't taking this seriously and gave him a realistic dollar amount offer hung up on me. I've been on the phone repeatedly with his supervisor and Capital One. Capital One says WELTMAN, WEINBERG & REIS are in charge of it and make all the decisions. they say Capital One has to approve any arrangements. In the meantime they try to get checking account numbers or at least my banking institution and relative's names and phone numbers to pay the debt.

I'll be honest I'm terrified and clueless but documenting everything every phone call time date the works. I want to stop this from going to court but now with the the inconsistency in stories that I'm getting from WELTMAN, WEINBERG & REIS versus what Capital One is telling from me I'm even more afraid to give them any money and Capital One won't take any payments from me. Capital One just tells me to pay them and keep records of the payment. Capital One's Recovery Department can't even tell me the total of what's owed. The paper attached to the court paperwork says one thing but they're trying to collect a higher amount!

I got a Greg Johns in mine, and it's supposedly an AR & Associates. The 866 number is a toll free number.

I called them and told them "I do NOT owe debt and do NOT know what you are talking about" on the message. While I use credit, I never have nor ever will spend more than what I can afford. Do have a loan, but my car one was paid off and student is not past due. If it were, then I'd be notified by that company at least three times before they went to debt collectors.

Personally, I believe firmly this is a scam - especially when the call goes straight to an answering machine with no ring (even after hours it rings at least once or twice).

Secondly, the guy on the voice machine is the SAME person and doesn't offer you an option to dial an extension to go to where you need to.

Third - again, an 866 extension is a TOLL FREE NUMBER. It is not a normal legal company. If I'm threatened, I will be notifying the BBB on them. Others should too if they know they are NOT in debt any way, shape or form.
