THIS IS A SCAM. THEY HAVE YOUR TELEPHONE NUMBER AND YOUR NAME. I received a call from a restricted number, the caller said that he was calling from the Distric Attorney's office and that this call was to serve me with a lawsuit and that I needed to call this 866 number. They tried to obtain my SSN and other information. From their language you can tell they are not legal clerks or anything professional.

Received barely understandable voice mail (mumbling and background noise) stating he was calling from —— processes office. “Two attempts will be made to deliver notice to ——(maybe a relative’s name).  Call if you wish to change delivery time or date.  Call law office of Harry & Case at 866-901-3623. Again case number is xxxxx.  Failure to call will result in this case proceeding without any further notice to you.  You have been notified.”

I received a call from a blocked number with a message similar to the one posted above by "Kay".  This number advised of a legal case brought against me for a credit card from 2006.  I advised no knowledge of this.  At the conclusion of the call he advised an officer would be dispatched.

They’re texting now too.  “Please contact our offices at 866-901-3623, you have been approved for a 1 hour hold to provide a location for documentation to be delivered.”  Text came from a number in 562 area code, which is Los Angeles.  Hope these folks rot in hell for trying to scam so many people out of their hard earned money or worse, limited retirement income.

SCAM Call!  The person I got was very well scripted and said that they were trying to reach someone that I know.  They said that it was regarding a formal complaint that was filed, they gave me a fake case number, and said that they were trying to get a hold of that person to get their story before dispatching an officer to his/her home address.

SCAM! Call is from "UNKNOWN." Left voice mail saying my full name and that they are from the "processor's office" in the county that I reside in. Gave a "case number." Said it is super urgent. Tried to act all authoritative, legit and threatening. Kept saying my name and ended with "consider yourself notified." I am not calling them back. They left a 866 return number.

We just got the same call an hour ago. When I looked up the phone number and saw the previous posts, I called back and called the guy a scam artist. He said my husband doesn't pay his bills and we are lucky living in America where people can do that.

All y'all gotta do is just tell them
"Your request is denied," then block their calls.
If the caller is serious he will figure out how to follow proper procedures.

Spoke with a man name John Lake saying I'll be going to court next week regarding a credit card from 2009. They wanted to settle out of court. They had my name address and social security number, I don't know how they got all that information. But when he couldn't tell me where to appear for court when I said I'll meet him in court he hung up. I knew it was a scam.

Well you would have had to have been served.  You don't simply get a phone call saying you have to go to court next week.  The court would have notified you of the date and they would have assigned a courtroom.  Good thinking on asking him where to appear.  You avoided being the victim of an extortion scam.
