Won't be answering. - SebI am past due 8 years on my credit card about 7 thousand. I just got the call from 1-866-903-2009 that i owe about $68,000 now. Now, I couldn't pay my first bill - I am sure I am going to pay this one now. They say most of it now is not interest but cost of trying to find me???????? Wow they make a good buck. Do they charge $60,000 an hour - you can find me in the phone book.

- granny of 3Seb,
Look up the Statue of Limitations in your State for the enforcement of the collection of this debt:
http://www.fair-debt-collection.com/statue-limitations.html
If it has expired, they get NOTHING.
Portfolio is NOTORIOUS for trying to collect on old debts that are beyond the SOL. I know this for a fact, because they tried to con my brother-in-law last year for a debt they had bought from Ford Motor Credit. He sent them a Cease and Desist letter and hasn't heard from them since.- Caller: Portfolio Recovery Management

- sorrowslostGuy on the phone identified himself as Nick, using my maiden name which I haven't used in years since before I was married. Saying it was very important I call him back, however failed to state what was so important or even who he was with. I love these kind of calls because they always end up not calling back and are just there to annoy you.
- Jak_flashJust got the call.... thanks for the information... called herself KAREN... I even told her that she sounded like something was wrong with her...

- JebusEvery day, 4 times a day, I get a call from these people. I have paid all my debts, and have the paperwork to prove it. They call, I used to answer, and offered to fax them the proof that they're collecting on nonsense, but then they just ask me for personal info that they must know I'm not going to give, then they hang up and call back later.
Is there any way to put a stop to this?- Call type: Debt collector
- Sick of scammersJust a word of warning. This phone call is not legit. These people scam you. You don't owe anything to them. I signed up for something on the net and the very next day this company was saying I owed money for something. I don't owe anything to this company or any other company. They ask for social insurance # and stuff. If you someone money they most likely have all this info already. I'm not sure exactly who they are either. I always pick up and say I'm not home but they never stop. Somehow people are getting your personal info and putting you at risk for identity theft. They are a bunch of low-life's. Best advice is to not sign up for anything. Avoid giving personal info and change your # every couple years. When they start, they wont stop calling.
