got a cal from 866 929 9739 asking if i had credit card problems/ they said they handle visa and master card problems and mentioned chase bank/ i asked for their address so i could write to them and they declined by giving me a run a round/ also heard people in background probably prompting whoever was on the phone.  full phone was 866 929 9739 x217 and ask for michael winters/ what a bunch of bull

I was also contacted on 08-08-08 by "CUSTOMER CARE CENTER" to "lower my interest rates and consolodate my credit card balances...yah right, I wasn't born yesterday!! How convenient that they handle Mastercard, Visa, Chase cards, you name it, they handle it!!! What company did you say you were from again I asked? the representative said once again, "CUSTOMER CARE CENTER". I have yet to hear of a company in the business of lowering interest rates and doing credit consolodation without a legal company name. I have yet to find a company with the name "CUSTOMER CARE CENTER" because this is a fraudulent phone call to obtain credit card numbers from unsuspecting, hard working individuals so BEWARE!! If it talks like a scam and it smells like a scam it more than likely IS A SCAM.  Can this be considered phone harrasement? I have told them more than once NOT to call my home. One last thought, legitimate companies do not block their company name nor their company phone number. Wouldn't that be counter productive and defeat the purpose of being in business? The name of the game is get your name and phone number out there to bring in more business!

They called from this number (866-929-9739), said they would lower Credit Card interest rates. Claimed to be with Washington Mutual. Called WaMu, and they have no affiliation with them. It is a scam. They are criminals trying to steal your Credit card numbers.

1866-929-9739 - - is A SCAM. After they called and wanted the entire account number to "lower my interest rates on ALL my cards". The woman's name is Michelle Winter. She said there was 'No out of pocket expenses'/ It seemed a bit too good to be true. So I asked for her to send me an email to confirm who the company is & she said "that is not how we verify" & I said "that is how I am going to verify YOU" She got a bit upset & the call ended. Then I called the credit card company she claimed to represent & they said IT WAS FALSE, IT IS A SCAM. Please don't provide your whole credit card number to ANYONE who claims to be affiliated with your credit card company. They do not require it. Besides, they only call you to ask for late payments or new offers to spend more money.
