These people are amateurs. They call relatives claiming to be "investigators". They having been saying they have a court case number for a YEAR now. Hilarious!!! I live in Texas. our courts systems move alot faster than that. Futhermore,  wages cannot be garnished in this state for petty judgements.  They prey on the ignorant. This guy "Nick Reed", they must've given him the Texas list. He must be a grunt. lol

I have been getting phone calls from a man named Steven Thomas saying he is with the Unifed PS group he started calling over 2 months ago and he has changed his number each month. I have been in the hospital since 9/28/11.  He told my sister he talked to me 2 weeks ago.  Which was unlikely since I was in th ICU and wasn't getting any phone calls. The first 2 numbers were 716 area codes and this latest was 585-563-5115. There have been different numbers using 1-800 and 1-866

Just so everyone knows: YOU CANNOT BE ARRESTED FOR A LOAN.

It's a civil matter not a criminal one. Companies that say otherwise are breaking the law and should be reported to the proper authorities with all the information you have on them. Try to get names, numbers and dates of calls including unanswered calls to your voice-mail. There are laws protecting citizens from harassing/threatening/abusive phone calls no matter if there is civil debt involved. You do not give up those right when you sign a loan.

I paid them money and know I am getting phone calls from an SDM& ASSOCIATES saying I still owe on a old loan.  Once when I was paying them off. They debited my account with in 6 days of the other payment I called them out on it. They had to redeposit part of the money.  Did not pay them any money. They owe me.

I have been having calls as well.  They keep telling me it was a bad check.  It is "Alex Westlake."  He claimed that I wrote a bad check in 2008 and calls me by my maiden name.  I was married before 2008, so yep think this one is a scam.  I called him today because he called my parents house this morning.  I asked him for a written statement about why he felt I owned him money, and his response was that "um no he can't do that, his company doesn't deal with paper."  I just laughed and told him that I knew this was a scam and if he doesn't stop contact with my parents I will be getting my lawyer involved.

I just got rid of an old payday loan that has been hanging over me and I'm glad it's gone.  The person I talked to was willing to work with me.  I feel so much better that the annoying calls will be done with.  Take a chance and give them a call, they will work with you.

they cant garnish your wages...  and for the most part payday loans wont even appear on your credit report

I have been receiving calls from this company. For weeks I have explained that the person they are attempting to contact is not me. However I still get calls from them. They call from 716-242-5202 they are unified PS Group. They are harassing me.

I have a debt with this company.  All off the information was valid.  I contacted the ACA and the NYSCA as well as the AG of NY.  This company is registerd and Licensed?  I spoke with a Mrs. Green an paid off my debt.  They seemed fair.  Maybe the poeple complaining should take a step back and try to fix their credit instead of evade their obligations.

Maybe you should take a step back and mind your own affairs.....Shill people don't come on this website to praise poor company performances by using illegal tactics.

@Conair - you are an idiot.  Your information is not correct.  The plaintiff (collector) would have to prove that you intended to defraud - this is nearly impossible to do.  They are using scare tactics and illegal an unethical methods to collect money.  Nice try though.

Just got the same call last week but she was a lady and was way disrespectful all around and that normal debt collectors didn't even treat me like that while and hung up on her. Just got another one today. This site with reading reviews has helped me decide to ignore it. Loss of job and going homeless within two months is y i couldn't pay.  They r the least of my worries

Alex Westlake called my office and my receptionist was trying to decide whether to bother me with the call at which point he said he was an attorney and it was about a bad check I wrote.  Several BIG red flags here......although I admit my past may be checkered with an occasional bounced check to the best of my knowledge all were paid.  I haven' t had actual checks for almost 3 years (who still uses paper checks, lol)  At any rate he represented himself as a attorney and if even if he's just a collection agent he violated the Fair Debt Collection Act by telling someone else what he was calling me about.  Of course my interest was peaked enough to call him back and ask for him Bar Number explaining that I was turning him in and making a report.  His response was "prove it" then he hung up.

Received  a call from someone named Amanda for a person named Annette Portor (?). I have no idea who that person is and nor who Unified PS Group is. One thing I can be sure of is that I do not owe anyone money that has not been paid and I Know who I am and it is not the person they are talking about. Guess they need to get an updated skip-traced list with current phone numbers and names, because they are way off course on this call. Lately I have been receiving toll free calls one after another from various companies. Many do not leave a message so I just delete the number.

I also got a call from "Alex westlake @ 716-279-6370". They accused me of writing them a bad check as well. However, I don't have a checking account. This fraudulent attempt at collecting a debt is being done by a company called PCS. I found their address and used google earth to find them and its a dilapidated residential house next to an abandoned lot. They are scam artist. When I requested to speak to the president of the company they connected me to a woman who repeatedly insulted me and kept dropping F-bombs. I looked her up bcse their was no way a reputable company would speak that way and the woman has open warrants in CA for fraud. Do not pAy these people. Report them to the NY Attorney Generals office. It is illegal for them to use these tactics to collect a debt. They prey on elderly people tricking them that they owe a debt and will be arrested if they don't pay. This is a lie!!  They will skip trace people to harass them through their relatives and even your job. Do not pay them. They won't even furnish you with a statement explaining your "so called debt" because its a scam. They have been harassing me for 7 years and I've never paid them a cent, and yes nothing has been done to me yet with all of their threats. The supposed debt doesn't even appear on credit reports.  These people a crooks!!! BEWARE!!!!!!!
