I keep getting calls from these folks even though I told them to take me off their calling list.  In Canada, it is illegal for telemarketers to call now that new laws have passed.  We can file a class action suit if we get enough people on-board to complain.

I received a call on my voice mail. It sounded like a philippean woman, very young. All she said was "this is a message for Mr. Ron"... not even  my last name.

They usually hang up when they receive voice mail, leaving no message. I get this call about 5 times per week.

I now make it a habbit of NEVER answering any 800 or 866 numbers. If it's something important, they'll leave a message.

Received call , asked for me then went blank.
This happened a couple years ago aswell.

I received a call at work from this number, a young Filipino woman.  She asked for a name similar to mine, when I said there was no one here by that name she then said my husband's name, (he has been dead for 22 years) then hung up. Kinda freaked me out.

This number calls me constantly... multiple times a day and I want them to STOP! They never leave a message and don't answer when I pick up??

they ask for the head of the company that is in another province, they never identify themselves or the company that is calling......when you call back this number, it only asks for your parties extension....what kind of scams is this number trying to pull

I received a few calls from this number.  When I picked up the phone and say hello, it hung up immediately, even without a word.

Gotta be a telemarketer.  I never answer it, but they call at least once per week.

I received a called from that 1-866-940-1468 on my home and cell number. They call daily now, but I never answer the phone. They wait for you to answer, then hang up. This is a telemarketing tactic that lets them know when you are available for a real telelmarketing call.

Caller asked for my boss, who I SAID was not available (being suspicious).  He identified himself as Mario and said he would try again later.

WHEN I DIAL THIS NUMBER THE RECORDING DOES NOT GIVE A COMPANY NAME.  I CAN'T REACH ANYONE IN PERSON TO ASK TO NOT CALL

1-866-940-1468 call often, usually around 10am. Been going 3 weeks now.
Never leave a message.
I simply refuse to answer the call from them.

I just received a call from this number.

The person said his name was "Joseph" and claimed to be calling from a company named TLC Explorations of Toronto Ontario. WARNING: They are selling what appears to be bogus investment into mining and other "opportunities".... just Google the name TLC Explorations and you'll find lots of interesting reading from other people who've been dooped and a fairly convincing website.

I just received a call from 1-866-940-1468 at my work place. I answered the phone, nobody talked, by the time I decided to get a pen and paper to write down the number, hummm about 20 seconds, they I hear someone asking for my boss .... I said Id take a message and quickly she hung up the phone.

Third call received asking for specific person in the office.  Upon questioning, it was reported they were TLC Explorations out of Toronto, a Mr. Raymond Akeno (sp??) - would not give number for a return call.

They've tried a few times with they spiel about mining and last call they hung up on the girl who works for me.
Here's an idea, if EVERYONE calls their toll free number every time they have a few spare seconds, their phone bill will be thousands and thousands....

Just received a call someone named Joseph?  Sound reception was horrible and it sounded like he was outside in a windstorm.  Kind of like today with a sudden snowstorm...possible connection?  He mentioned some mining IPO of a company TLC Exploration (I think?) in Thunder Bay with a potentially huge Gold find.  (strangely similar to other posters of TLC) Supposedly located next to another large find in the area, they might be taken over by their neighbour.  Why have an IPO - penny stock when there are tremendously promising results and/or possible takeover on the horizen?  Sounds far too easy and obviously a scam!

Both website addresses are registered to a fairly modest homeowner with the above 2 companies (I can locate), but it seems that have more than 2 dozen other registered websites.  He uses a personal email (aol) vs. corporate and the investor address is sent to a home rather than an office.  You decide, website details below:

If you search the phone #416-849-1223 it locates both sites, how can they use the same number for different businesses?  The 866-940-1468 is likely the telemarketing number and the 416-849-1223 is likely a call centre.  How can this be legitimate business and the evidence seems to strongly support a scam.  Don't waste your time, just hangup.

Caller is calling weekly - identified as Mario one week and Raymond another week - very rude to admin - trying to get his call put through to the owner - identified the company as Aventelle...trying to sell mining investment shares.
