Got the same exact call - told him to fax the info, then I called Century Link to confirm that it was NOT them and had some kind of freeze put on the account so it can't be changed by anyone but me.  What they're doing is called Slamming and it should be outlawed.  These freakin' people don't let up!

I just spoke to Century Link for our business account.  They said that 866-961-6684 is a contracting company called On Vi-Source, which is a company that phone companys use to contract people to change their phone bundles.  She said that they usually give a better bundle deal with a 3 year contract.  They are contracted by cell phone providers and house and business providers.  I called 877-290-5458 to recieve this information.

We got the call and I questioned if they were a third party vendor and she said no. I asked why Century-Link was all of a sudden willing to drop our phone bill by $50 and she said it was because we were such loyal customers. The fax arrived and it states it's from Business Solutions Group, a CenturyLink Master Agent. I called the number listed 866-961-6684 and flat out asked her what Business Solutions Group is and got the 'master sales agent' line. I asked her if they were part of Century-Link and she said no.  I suspect this is just the scam I thought it was from the start, they switch your long distance to some third party product and then you're stuck.

I just called CenturyLink, and they confirmed Business Solutions Group (BSG) as an "Authorized Sales Agent" for their services. And, like some you noticed, the BSG rep had access to our account details during the initial conversation - something a scammer would not.

CenturyLink offered me a similarly priced package if I sign up directly with them. I'm still comparing the costs. One drawback to using BSG is that they have you sign a one year authorization for them to "act on your behalf" in almost every aspect of your communications package. I'm not comfortable granting that kind of access to a third party, whether they are "authorized" or not.

Do your own research, compare prices, and look for little details like these three items (the quotes you receive from various sources may or may not include them - and you may not realize that until it's too late):

- Fed Universal Service Chg $5.52 for four lines
- Presubscribed Line Charge $11.96 for four lines
- Subscriber Line Mulit Line INterstate $26.60 for four lines
- Total $44.08 per month on our bill

This number is Business Solutions.  They are scamming you.  Called CenturyLink to verify if this was one of their vendors.  They confirmed they are not.  They placed a Pick Freeze on our account to prevent any 3rd party billing or charges without our consent.  
If this company gets you to agree to anything, they could actually impose an added charge to your billing and this would have been done without CenturyLink's knowledge.  

Protect your accounts, and take the time to have the Pick Freeze installed.  There is no cost to do this and CenturyLink will have to get your consent if any changes are made outside of their knowledge.

They are unable to disable vendors from calling businesses, and they these vendors may appear to have basic information that makes one think that they are "official", but they are phishing.  
BE INFORMED, and PROTECT YOURSELVES.  We are surrounded by wolves...

just received call claiming that they were verizon

They are still trying to sell this information for a local landline service. Call my company direct and they had no idea who they were but as it turned out I was able to improve my billing through normal channels. Guess they are good for something.

claiming to be centurylink and wanting to reduce my bill  when i called centurylink i was told that this phone solicitation was not from centurylink and it was from an outside company that isnt calling for centurylink, i reported it to centurylinks fraud department

This is a scamming operation . . . our business phones are taken care of through our Dallas Office which CenturyLink is fully aware of . . . when I tell them that they should know this they hang up on me.

We contacted a friend that works for CenturyLink and they told us it is a scam.  Works like Make it Personally Yours described.  She told us that if CenturyLink contacts you they do it directly and the ID will say it is CenturyLink, not a blocked number!

Just received a voicemail call from this number, they  stated that they had been tried several times to reach me, and this was their last call.  They said they were with Business Solutions and they wanted to talk to me about our Century Link account.   We do not even have a Century Link acct.  SCAM

We got a call from 866-961-6684 claiming to be calling about our CenturyLink telephone account. I took a message as I am not the one who handles account, but that number was not a match to the number on the caller ID (972-535-0214) and gave me only the name Rebecca. Seems phishy to me.

I got a message the other day advising to call back this number.  They said it was Century Link. BS.

I keep getting messages from this phone number From "Dorey" with "Business Solutions"  advising they are Century Link and to call them back as the discounted rate plan is going to expire.  Very annoying.

Caller stated it was Dory with the business solutions group authorized A then slight pause then said CenturyLink and your account is eligible for a review. Apparently could not remember which Telco she was attempting to CRAM. Definitely a scammer call.
