We received a call on Monday, 5/14/12 from "Met Life" at 518-244-4000  (on Caller ID) on our home landline and they LEFT A MESSAGE to call back on this 866 number.  We DO have an account with MetLife, and they asked for one of us by name, however, the person DID NOT give THEIR NAME nor the REASON for the call.  I would recommend EXTREME CAUTION.

I called the number.  It is MetLife and it was regarding correspondence that they sent to me in March to which I have not responded.

Are you sure?  I rec'd a call, called them back, they gave a first name and asked a WHOLE bunch of questions to verify who i am.  I answered only a few of the questions but the questions kept coming and since they were so vague about the purpose of the call, I asked them "If I call MetLife on a number from their website, will they know about you?" and the person said they would not, that this is a separate area about "mailings".  Not a confidence boost.

I received a call and the person calling did leave a first name.  When I returned the call it was concerning an account I have with them.   They only asked a couple of questions to confirm it was my account and then explained about the lack of a named beneficiary on the account.  They wanted to know if I would like a beneficiary form which they are to mail to me.  The lady was very nice and offered her assistance and asked if I had any questions concerning my account. I checked my file and discovered that I did not should that a beneficiary had ever been named.  I appreciate them contacting me on this matter.
