I got a charge on my credit card listing this number, all I know it is on Petworth Rd in England.  Tried calling it and it is always busy

Called the number and got ahold of a representantive named Aaron (would not give me his last name).  I asked to speak to a manager and he said he was alone.  He said he cancelled the UNAUTHORIZED $47 transaction, but it would be 7-10 days before I got my money back!!  If you signed up at www.freelancehomewriters.com, BLOCK THEM FROM YOUR DEBIT/CREDIT CARD, OR CANCEL IT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!!  IT IS A(VERY POSSIBLE) SCAM!!!  Thank you, and good luck!!

That is where my charge came from!! I forgot all about it. I signed up for at a freelance writing site for a 3.50 charge to see what it was like.  This charge (3.50)appeared on my credit card and then a week later a 53.00 charge was placed from the same company without my authorization.  Thanks for the info, now I know who to contact.

I just got off the phone from freelancehomewriters.com they said that the 3.50 charge was a 7 day trial and then I was automatically signed up for a month after that. They said it was in the contract and I should have read it closer.  They did say they would refund my money and they closed my account and I would be refunded in 7-10 days.  However, they asked for my name and that was it. I don't know how they would be able to distinguish me from anothe Patrick Scott, but I will wait the week and see if the charge is reveresed.  I will let you know.

I checked out FreelanceHomewriters.com recently. I've definitly NOT singned up with them twice last month.

Same situation ... 2 charges for $47US to my VISA card 4 days apart.  The phone number is NOT accessable from Canada, so I cannot contact them directly.  I have, however, authorized a dispute through VISA to find out exactly what is going on and expect to resolve it that way.  These people, if they happen to read this site need to know that they are being investigated by VISA.  Payments are listed as "recurring" through Webpayments.  I don't know if the receiving company is freelancehomewriters.com or not as they apparently have a large group of companies that they clear payments for.  I do know that I have not ever signed on with that site (even for a trial).  Further, the "Haslemere" part of the VISA bill refers to a location in the UK ... freelancehomewriters.com indicates on their site that they are located in Texas.  Please advise if you obtain further information so that I can keep VISA (Canada) apprised of anything more than they have already found out on my behalf.

I am currently on hold to cancel my membership which I didn't realize that I had. They did not phone me, I was just at my banking site and saw an extra charge that just said webpayment with a phone number. When I tried to call the # it said it was unaccessable from my area (I am in Canada). Did a search and found this blog. It says on the site %100 satisfaction and there is an 8 week guanrantee. It has only been 2 weeks since I was at the site so I'll let you know what happens.
