866-971-9412

Is this a legit number for a microsoft service center?  I got an error message on my computer and instructions to call this number to correct the problem.

The website that displays the number 866-971-9412 and has the audio message to call them is a scam website.
You DO NOT have a virus on your computer and there is NO error.
They are trying to take your money by telling you to pay them to remove the virus that doesn't exist,
and in the process they will install spyware that will monitor your computer and tell them every time you login to a website and it will send them your ID and password.  They will get all of your passwords, email, facebook, your bank, amazon, everywhere you login.

Go up by the top of your screen and close the TAB for that window or close your browser(Firefox, Internet Explorer, etc.)

This is a tech support scam.  I just got the same message.  The phone number seems to bounce to someone is India.  They are not Microsoft and will tell you such.  Shut down your computer.  Run a good malware scan, such as Malwarebytes, and make sure your anti-virus is running.
