Received a voicemail from 866–978-6799, Anonymous, stating that someone was filing charges against me & to call them back.  Believe it's a scam.

It's absolutely a scam! Most likely from outside the US.

Left incomplete  message on home phone with "Claim number, please call 866-978-6799. I called number back, man answered "Internal Revenue Service". I promptly said "Wrong Number", hung up.  I have heard about many IRS scams.

866-978-6799 = caller id = 800 Services = IRS scam  = Voicemail from (866) 978-6799; "This is IRS internal revenue services. The reason of this call is to inform you that IRS is filing a lawsuit against you to get more information about this case file. Please call immediately on our toll free number 1-866-978-6799. I repeat it's 1-866-978-6799. Thank you." ....yeah, right.....bogus...

IRS phone scam.  Says to call 866 # to avoid being arrested.  Do not call back 866-978-6799

Calls our house at least 2 or 3 times every day and leaves a partial  message with a claim number to give them when returning the call. Started at 8:25 this morning. Believe it is a scam because when  I researched the phone number I was told it did not exist.

Call back number allegedly from the Internal Revenue Service threatening arrest for overdue taxes

Left a partial voicemail.  I called the number back, foreign male saying IRS.  I told him someone left a partial voicemail.  He said they were filing a lawsuit on me.  I laughed at him and told him he was talking to BCSO.  He said I was lying.  I wasn't and told him that I do work for BCSO.  He called me a liar again and then hung up on me.  Definitely a scam.

Total scam. When I answered the call there was a recording claiming the irs was filing charges against me. FYI the irs does not contact anyone by phone nor does the irs use a second party to call. Beware of these people they are trying to gather your personal info to scam you.

A recorded, heavily computerized voice saying "Hello, we have been trying to reach you. This is your final notice from the IRS. The IRS has been trying to reach you as they are filing a lawsuit against you......"

They have been using the same number to call me for the past few days. Makes the fake IRS scammers easier to block! I am sure they will have a new number soon!

Received several voice messages from 1-866-978-6799 from an agent by the name of Mr. Deshaun Brown. He stated that I had won a prize from Jet Skier International from a sweepstakes i entered from a local Walmart some sort. This is definitely a scam because I went back last year and found my printed scam numbers and documents. This is the same number that someone from the  irs had call me trying to get me to pay some money over the phone. Once I told him I’m a part of law enforcement he quickly hung up. I immediately call the number back it stated this number no longer available.
