Called my cell phone, which I did not answer.  Left a message to call back, with an extension.  Thanks to others' reports I now know, as I suspected, it was some kind of misdirected call

This number keeps calling and hanging up as soon as I say hello. If I call back, it does not ring but goes into hold music. Just to be ornery, I stayed on hold for a full 5 minutes before somebody answered. They gave me some bogus company name that I've never heard of before and then wanted me to give them personal information. They said they were debt collectors but were not willing to tell me who they were collecting for. I told them to send me a letter because I'm not stupid enough to give my personal information out to an entity that won't even tell me what it's calling for.

I’ve reported plenty of numbers to the “Do not call list”, and it’s a joke. Hasn’t worked yet for any number, and it only works for 1 year. After that the number comes off and you must report again, and again, and again. Bunch of BS

Same number and message.  Robo call.  I blocked first time, but for some reason they are able to leave a message.

I just got a call from this number, the call was not clear, Indian/Hindu voice asked to verify my address, I told him I do not know you and I am not giving you any information.  He said well since you do not want to verify information I will end this call.  I said ok, bye Roggie.

Perhaps if they obeyed federal debt collection laws and did not harass people who don't owe money, they'd have better reviews.

This phone number called Me twice. With no answer on the other end of the line just silence. I called back and like others have said no ringing just horrible music! I thank the folks who have proceeded Me in their posts. Upon looking this number up on the internet it seems to be Avaya Call Center. We have so many issues going on with life right now the last thing We Need is a Call Soliciter bothering Us for some Mumbai-Jumbo or crazy sales pitch for some product We don’t need. I am on a Do Not Call list and yet these people call Me. They need to leave Us alone so We can get on the Business of Living. Avaya Leave Us Alone! Please Do Not Call.The individual that said They Just don’t Answer the Call is 100% Right! I just won’t answer.If it’s important the caller can leave a message and then if We Are Interested We will call back. Also with a 999 prefix I hardly want to make any contact with anybody with that phone number! Call Me Superstitious, Ok,I’m not contacting anybody with the sign of the Devil as Thier Phone Number! No Way!

I love how these idiots just start talking well before the voice mail starts recording. Lady was obviously saying the number to call but of course you only hear the last four digits 6460 then she says, "and 'axe' for extension 148". I'm sorry, do they not teach these idiots how to speak correctly??? AXE for extension??? don't you mean ASK for extension??? If you're going to be calling people on the phone...LEARN TO SPEAK CORRECT ENGLISH OR GET THE F**K OUT OF MY COUNTRY!!!!!!!

There are tactics to mine legitimate phone numbers from these automated calls, person answers, automation makes note they are real line. This is possibly what is going on when you call them back they will put you on a spam list possibly. A Collection agency calling for Juan or whoever, trying to collect a debt from many different numbers is sketchy at best, so block this # ASAP. I provided the lookup info. Cost me a penny and a half. I am getting more calls now from bottom feeding scammers, soooo, I just don't answer any calls from numbers I don't know.  It really is the simplest solution.  When Judge Kavanaugh gets confirmed to SCOTUS, perhaps he can do something about the proliferation of these irritating calls.
