This number is associated with the online PayPal scam. You post an item on Kijiji and someone emails you wanting to buy. The catch is you have to pay upfront this ridiculous shipping fee because they live somewhere remote or overseas. They send you your asking price plus this courier fee and the courier fee charge via PayPal. Check your actual PayPal account, no money. Fist top off is there is no way it would cost $450 to ship a small box from Alberta to the Yukon.

Be smart and savvy everyone, don't work hard to pay for some lazy scumbag to take your money!

Same thing happened to me. Report them and never transfer any money to someone you don't know to some kind of money mart.

This number contacted me for an item i had for sale. I live in a small community ,and they were getting a USA based courier service . So i knew something was up i googled this number and here i am writing this comment .....

It works pretty much just like the first poster in this thread said it does.  Variations include money orders and certified checks which turn out to be bogus and then you are out the money and the bank fees.  Cash only, transaction in a secure location (check with your local PD whether they allow those transactions in their lobby, many do).

I got a response for my Kijiji ad from wendidonald@hotmail.com from phone number +15026227150. She said she was from Yukon but had a Louisville phone number (1st red flag) and requested I respond to her through email only. I had no problem communicating with "her" through email but I noticed her typing skills were awful and all her messages had spelling and grammatical errors without periods and capitals (obviously didn't use spell check and didn't finish school) (2nd red flag). She came up with the transaction that should work between us-- first she would send me money through PayPal, once I received the money, she would get a courier company to come pick up the product. I agreed to this and luckily my PayPal account wasn't updated so I had to do a few things before I could set this up. My asking price was openly negotiable as I am desperate to sell some books and she never negotiated the price after I sent her photos of some visible damages to the books. Most of the time, I deal with cheap buyers who offer 40% of the asking price or less, so having a buyer who is interested in paying the full asking price also seemed fishy (3rd red flag)! It still seemed weird how someone with Louisville number apparently living in Yukon wanted the textbook I was selling for her son... it's a University textbook so decided to google her and found this forum. Thank you for starting this forum! What mom knows her son's university courses where she finds textbooks for him? (4th red flag). I responded to her and informed her this wasn't going to work for me and posted this link for the reason why. She'll probably change her name and/or number for the future after seeing this. Hopefully "she" finds something better to do than to run scams and maybe get a job or go back to school where she will learn how to communicate in a more professional manner. I have not heard back from her after asking her about the Louisville number and Yukon residence or anything else. I guess she's moving on to the next victim.

Note to self and others: If it's too good to be true, it's definitely a scam.

I got this same message from my kijiji ad in Calgary. He claimed he wanted to buy the textbook for his son and I needed to send $500 via moneygram transfer to some trucking company before I could receive the payment.

He claimed he had already sent the payment but I never received anything and even produced a fake email sent through his wife's email - rebeccaskiver2000@outlook.com. Phone number was 8672920265. The number and email will probably change. It is all lies. Do not send any money.

My husband received a call from this number looking to buy our truck we have posted up on kijiji for sell. And when they said they sent the money, and there should be an email notification, in which I didn't receive after several hours of waiting. So they sent the amount for the truck along with the amount for the fees, which were over $2600.00. SO I AM ADVISING EVERYONE TO NOT ANSWER THIS PHONE NUMBER OR GET IN CONTACT WITH THEM. Good thing I looked up the email cause I got the email from Kate_johnson99@outlook.ca for a car seat I'm selling.

I recently just got an email from the same person ! And i feel very foolish as i gave my email , number, and address, what do i do?

Im so mad, the same kate person emailed me asking details and offering to send me money for the books i was selling on kijiji! PLEASE DO NOT fall into it like i did !

Same thing happened, but I understood that is something going wrong. Unswered that I did want to sell my staff but not sending money to all delivery companies and others..

This was EXACTLY the email I got. Word for word, exact grammatical errors with spacing errors. Looks like Wendi Donald changed her email to Rebecca Skiver! It's super annoying.
