got a call from this number on 02-15-12, I did not answer and they did not leave a message.  I called back and they said "hello" I asked who they were and the lady changed her voice to sound oriental and said radio shack.  I hung up the phone then.

got the call--they say all my credit cards are current but that this is an important message--I hange up

I am on the do not call list and would appreciate it if those people would obey that!!

The message asks you to press 1 for an operator, every time i reach one I ask to be removed from their call list and they hang up immediately. The number cannot be called back, "call cannot be completed as dialed"

What good does it do to have a DO NOT CALL LIST if these idiots still get your phone number and still keep calling.  They are the most annoying calls I've ever had and there seems to be more of them these days.  I don't usually answer these calls but it is annoying to keep checking your phone to see if you actually are receiving a call from someone you want to talk to and not some idiots who call and can't even speak.......totally annoying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

You people who think the Do Not Call list should be affective against these types of calls are clueless. That list only works for legitimate businesses who respect the law. These people criminals. Criminals don't care about the law.

"Report to FCC (but no one cares).  THey could be tracked and shut down today.  No one cares." You are also clueless. The numbers they use are spoofed. They are fake numbers, so it's not that "no one cares". They can't track down the owner of a fake number (that's why the number is not in service when you try and call it back). The only way these calls could be tracked back the their source would be an active phone trace when the call comes in, and in most states that requires a court order. And even then it's likely the calls are coming from a "burner" cell, or a foreign country.

"told them to call me back at the local police station number for that area code." LOL! Nice! But unfortunately that area code is as fake as the number itself. I like your style though. It's certainly better than whining about how the FCC doesn't care, or how the Do Not Call list doesn't work.

What most of you fail to understand is that the problem is not the FCC, and it's not the Do Not Call list, it's the phone companies. When the telecommunications industry created the Caller ID system they left it open for easy spoofing. It should have been an encrypted, secure system, but it's not. It's actually very simple to spoof any number. There are applications, and even web sites that will do it for you. Literally anyone can do it. A five minute search on google is all it takes.

These crooks use fake numbers, so you can report them 'til the cows come home and it won't matter. When the police, FCC or whoever looks into the number you reported, they will find out it's an out of service/unused number.

You can block the call, but next week they will call you from a different (equally fake) number.

The bottom line is, until the telecommunications industry does something about the crappy caller ID system, we are all pretty much screwed. These crooks will keep calling, and there's nothing we can do to stop it. If it's not a number you are expecting a call from, just don't answer. If it is a legitimate call, they should leave a message. Otherwise, assume it's a scam and ignore the missed call.

Got call again today, have tried repeatidly to get them to stop. Today I asked how the got my name and number, they told me "It was none of my damn business"  When I said yes it is, you are calling and asking info from me at least tell me how you got my number.  She hung up. But I am sure it will continue tomorrow.

Didn't answer, they didn't leave a message.  I thought it might have been a taxi company too (222-2222 in HI)...but ya, don't answer.

Received a call from this number and no message left at 12:02 pm on 2/21/2012. My number is on the DO NOT CALL list.

I just received a call from 870-222-2222.  I did not pick up and no message was left.
Within minutes I received two other calls (385-468-4668 and 201-207-1263).  No message was left on those either, and I'm not sure if it's related or just a coincidence.

I never answer unidentified numbers and you shouldn't either. Real simple!

I have received calls from "Cardholder Services" from this number as well as 253-246-8510 and other numbers that I haven't documented.  On at least 5 separate occasions, I have waited for a live operator and asked to be removed from the list.  They still call and call.

Not so simple to not answer. I list my number in ads to sell things, so I want to talk to them.

Every time I get one of these calls I light one of my sister's barbie dolls on fire and throw it off the roof, while screaming in a really high voice. "I can't take it anymore!"  I usually film it and put it on Youtube because know there are some wierdos out there that enjoy that kind of stuff.

Next time I'm going to fill Barbie with red paint and get a close up of it hitting the driveway, maybe loosen the arms and legs first.  It's exciting just to think about isn't it?  Of course it is.  I know you're excited or you wouldn't still be reading this.  You know what?  You're kind of a sicko.
