Fake medical debt collector scam

I keep getting this text and when I call, they say I have an unpaid balance and that effective June 1st, if I don't pay my pill, I'll lose my insurance coverage.

I've gotten this text at least 3 times.  It says 'There is a balance on your health plan that needs attention.  Please call to review and make a payment to 870298-5513.  Reply STOP to opt-out.'  I replied STOP and I think that let them know the number they texted was legit.  So tired of spam.

Received a text from "213-398-8061" (in quotes because who knows if the caller ID is spoofed or not) saying "There is a balance on your health plan that needs attention.  Please call to review and make a payment at 870-298-5513. Reply STOP to opt-out."

I'm not calling, nor am I replying anything.  A legit provider can mail me a bill, or call my phone number and explain themselves.  There are too many scams!

I got several calls like this, asking me to call about outstanding balance.  I JUST retired and my whole process is different and I DO HAVE a small balance due. I thought that's what this was, so I called to take care of it.   The "bill" was 10x higher than what I do owe, so I hung up. I did NOT pay, but I verified a lot of information because I do have a bill due.

I did the same and replied with some information such as verifying my DOB and ZIP. My daughter went for a checkup recently and so i thought this was related to that. They wanted me to pay and warned me of this going to collections but I said I'd take care of it later. Based on his reaction to my answer and suggesting I pay now, I then realized this was a scam and  hung up. Has anything happened as a result of you giving him some of your personal data?

Texted from 818-256-3736 and said I should call 870-298-5513 because my "healthy policy has a balance thats [sic] outstanding requiring attention"

Received a text saying "Your health policy has a balance thats outstanding requiring attention. Please call 870-298-5513 to review and bring to proper standing. Reply STOP to opt out"
The BBB has this number listed with the same message. This is a scam, I have no overdue balance
