Said I was going to jail for not paying a loan

That is typical of a debt scammer to scare a victim in order to extort some money. Debts are a Civil matter, not a Criminal one, so the scammer is telling you a lie.

Called my and my husband's number referencing our son and saying we were listed as an emergency contact for him and we needed to call him back ASAP.  This is a dirty thing to do for a scammer or debt collector.  No mention of it being a debt collector.
