A woman said she was from "Consumer Insurance {something}" and that she was calling about my payment.  When I said "I don't know who you are", she hung up

Got a call a while ago when I was in my car, didn't answer because I didn't recognize the number & it was too much trouble. Glad to know from the reports here that I avoided a spam call. These idiots have rendered my landline worthless, now they are moving on to our cells, apparently.

Got a call from this number, I did not recognize the number and I did  not answer.  It was announced as 'unknown caller' and they left no message on my voice mail.

Same deal here they called, i answered but i did not say anything, and waited for them to speak and they didn't, so i hung up

I get calls  from this # all the  time.  I don't answer my landline any more and have the ringer turned off.

The lady was telling me she wanted my credit card info to pay for my insurance when they already just cashed my check.  When I called my insurance they said it was paid current.  What gives?

Did the called identify themselves as a rep for your insurance company? Other posts indicate this is a scam that works by pretending to collect over-due payments.  I think you can believe your insurance company's customer service, that is a number you know and dialed for yourself.

Got a call from this # this morning while in my car. Didn't recognize the number, so of course I didn't answer.  No message left. Best thing to do if you don't recognize who's calling  - don't answer it! If it's a legitimate call, the company will leave a message.

FAKE! I always respond: " State Police - Fraud Division - how may I help you?"

Didn't answer, didn't recognize the caller. Let no message for me.

I just got a call from them and didn't answer either as I don't answer from people I don't know.

Called once, missed it, they didn't leave a message. Answered second call which was an hour later. Hung up when I said hello.

Scam about car insurance

They must be sequentially dialing. Just called a cell phone I bought for software testing so I never give the number out. Didn't leave a message

They called and said that A check I wrote bounced for a insurance payment. I asked what  was the name of their company and what was the insurance company. After she told me. I’ve replied that I’ve never wrote a check and I have never been associated with that insurance company. So she tried to threaten me stating that it will be sent to collections. So I said go ahead because I’m not affiliated with you or that company.
