Got a call from this number around10:58 this a.m. Was at the grocery store...my recorder answered. Like most of these calls, they left no message. I would not have answered if I had been home, as know these area codes that call are mostly telemarketers or scammers.

The FCC will not take a complaint regarding any phone scammer who robodials your number then neither leave any message nor talks.  The State of NJ has made it harder to file complaints about DNC violations unless the complainant is able to drill down to the complaint form (found thru www.njconsumeraffairs.gov/telemarketers) and fill it out, then mail it in – all at your cost!

Roborectums know all that thus our elected legislators have basically blessed them to continue to annoy us.  Not to mention that when the caller realizes he/she/it has been blocked, they either get a new number to call from or spoof another (many times an innocent) number.

To make things even worse, all phone providers profit by providing service to these scammers and won’t shut them down as it would be lost income for every phone provider who is aiding and abetting the illicit activity scammer.

Every phone provider easily knows these roboterrorists utilize their services just by monitoring the bandwidth and frequency of calls made from a single source.  We, the recipients, are all victims of this crime and it’s high time to fight back – so if you actually talk to a human, identify them by asking for their address so you can send them a check, and then hang up.  Use their mailing address on every postage paid postcard you find in magazines offering free insurance estimates, travel, magazine samples, etc.  On the up side - this will help reduce the USPS debt.

Contact your legislators to stop the robocallers – send them a complaint every time you get a call.  Tell them to stop the scumbags or you will elect someone who will as their inaction and total lack of regard for your wellbeing and privacy further aids and abets each robocaller.

The DNC law works only for honest callers.  Federal and State laws need to be enacted to guide the phone providers in terminating the illegal roboactivity and phone scams – put the onus on the providers and not the honest users!

Also, why not sue the phone providers for their inaction to pull the plug on the phone terrorists?  A fantastic class action suit awaits a great attorney team on this one, because it appears that neither Federal nor State authorities give a damn to protect us and openly permit the phone companies to continually profit from your life being interrupted.

Verizon’s Call Intercept service (a $9.99 per month ransom plus federal and local taxes) limits you to 25 numbers.  So I use a Panasonic KX-TG6844 phone that can block 250 numbers. The cost of $111 paid for itself in a year and I dropped the Verizon intercept service extortion fee.

Many robocalls originate on the Verizon network and thru their subsidiary companies and affiliates such as Cellco. Of course, Sprint, Level 3, Cavalier, Embarq, T-mobile, and Cingular (to name a few) are also used providers.  What if these scammers might even be related to phone company employees or worse yet ISIS to raise funds to support terrorism?

Finally, contact the Consumer Union (Consumer Reports) site www.EndRobocalls.org and sign their petition to pressure the phone companies and lobby the government. It won’t cost you a cent!  July 2015 news articles indicate Verizon is going to screw us more during their attempt to deregulate communications services and fees which could cost us considerably more by buying into their anonymous call intercept useless service, etc.

caller ID showed 'survey'- well it was Heather, who must be Rachel's sister, from cardmember services. I don't have any of their services, they need to stop calling me. I have blocked several #'s from these same morons, so I guess they think the 'survey' showing up on caller ID will get more people to answer the phone?

congratulations. YOu just confirmed that they reached a live number. Your number will now be added to the list they sell to other scammers and the number of calls you get will increase exponentially. NEVER PRESS ANY NUMBERS OR TALK TO THESE PEOPLE

So this criminal calls me and wants me to provide him with my personal information so he can drain my bank account. I tell him that he has called an eletrical substation. He becomes upset and begins swearing at me then hangs up.   I can rest easy tonight knowing that I did my good deed for the day and got a good laugh as a result.

Same criminals. New twist. Male caller with a heavy east indian accent wants me to provide personal information so a life insurance agent can call me back with a great rate on life insurance. Background noise indicates a phone bank location with many other criminals making the same criminal pitch.  When I call 872 253 0732 I get a constant busy signal. Caller ID displays Chicago Illinois. Same old stupid CRIMINALS at work.

It was a robot that called me at work. Said it was "Heather from Account Services", VERY carefully worded message so it SAID "there is no problem with your account", and met all the legal disclaimers, but IMPLIED and SOUNDED LIKE it was a collections call and used words like "FINAL NOTICE".  Wanted me to sign up for a new credit card, claimed it could get me a lower rate.
