Scam call to contractors asking to have work done.  The residents of the addresses are not aware.  Called said his name was James but spoke very broken English with Indian accent.

Just had "james" message my company asking for painting to be done. Gave me a local address. When I googled his # this came up. Beware

Selling furniture on Offer Up and a guy offered to purchase said they would send their movers to pick up furniture. Not sure how they will scam, but when we exchanged numbers,this was his number.

They will send you a check that is larger than the agreed amount and explain the difference is to pay the "movers" (actually the scammer).  You will be told to cash the check and then transfer that amount to the "movers" by means of a service like Western Union, Venmo or Zelle (services that are difficult or impossible to reverse a transfer or trace to the receiver).  They know it will take a while for the bank to discover the check will not clear and by that time you have sent the money to them.  You will end up scammed of the "moving fees" and responsible to pay the amount you received from the check (plus NSF fees) back to the bank.
Most likely the "buyer" will have some excuse for not being able to com to collect the furniture themselves (some excuses seen are they or a relative are ill so they cannot travel, in the military overseas, or away on business travel) and usually they can only communicate via text or online messages.

Same Scam: Selling furniture on Offer Up and a guy offered to purchase said they would send their movers to pick up furniture. To secure the deal he wanted to sent payment to my bank account ect. Once you give then your banking details read previous post from Nimrod above to see how they scam people.
