These guys are getting more and more clever by the day. I have received 6 phone calls from them over the course of the past 3 days. The first 2 days they used a caller ID spoofer to show a SC number (or they bought a pre paid cell phone since the number is listed as belonging to Verizon). The first day I spoke with George John Washington from the American Money Corporation and he explained that I won 5 million dollars by paying by bills on time. I asked him where he was located and he informed me he was in Las Vegas. I asked what time it was in Las Vegas and he explained that his clock was broken in his office and that his boss would not permit him to repair the clock. I asked him what the ZIP code was in Las Vegas and he explained that Las Vegas does not have a ZIP code yet. He was asking for someone named Joy Wmlas and I explained that this was not me and that Joy is a womans name (I am a man). He explained that this was ok as they could just write the check in my name as long as I gave my full name, address, and drivers license number. Throughout the call he tried to reassure me that he was a "resident" of the church so I should have no fear of him trying to scam me. I asked why he would even bring that up since I never once asked if he was a scammer. He got pretty upset and told me that I was making his head upset and then he hung up.

Yesterday I got a call from Michael Myers with the International Currency Organization. Funny thing is that he had the same phone number as the American Money Corporation. Michael Myers asked for Joy Wmlas and after hearing that I was not her once again explained that this was ok since they could just write the check to me instead. I tried to keep him on the phone as long as possible to gather as much information as I could about them. I was on the phone for close to an hour, never once revealing my name or address. Michael Myers then admitted that he got the name Michael Myers from the scary movie, then he quickly retracted that statement. I asked him basic questions like his ZIP code (he claimed to have been from Riverside California), the current time in CA (he was WAY off on that one), who the governor of CA was (I figured even Jamaicans would know the answer to this one). He got angry when I asked him who the governor of CA was and told me that he in fact was the governor of CA. After more questions and silly answers I informed him that I work as a private IT Security consultant that specializes in reporting VoIP crimes to the FBI (although I have done this in the past, its not really my specialty) and he got VERY angry, started screaming, "You think I scared of FBI?" and started threatening me. He then hung up and I thought this was the end. Until....

Today I got a call from 876-259-9531 (Kingston, JM) and was greeted by Charles Sinclair who wanted to know if they should just donate the money to charity. I told them sure. He became frustrated and told me that I had to accept the money even though it was not in my name. I told him that I was very comfortable on my own and did not need the money. Mr Sinclair then informed me that I had to take the money because he works with the FBI (gave me a badge number of 0573) at 303 Carson St in Pleasant Village, NY and that it was the law that I take the money. I told him to hold on, put the other line on speaker phone, and dialed the local FBI who answered rather quickly. I asked them to verify that Charles Sinclair worked for them. While on hold Mr Sinclair informed me that he was too busy in his office to deal with such petty things (5 million dollars is petty to an FBI salary? Wow, I'm in the wrong field!) and he hung up on me.

Long story short: Keep them on the phone as long as possible WITHOUT giving out any personal information because it costs them money; even if they have unlimited minutes or long distance they can't call and scam someone else if you're tying up their time. Play games with them by asking simple questions then sounding sincerely interested in what they're saying. Don't be overly funny otherwise they'll know that you're not falling for it, but you can get them to say some pretty funny stuff. Break up the monotony by acting slightly concerned and they will say/do just about anything to get you to believe them.

This caller leaves a message on home phone voicemail indicating trying to reach you for money won in coupon returned and to please call back.  He says his name is Seigler.  We simply delete the call and hang up.  Am reporting to the national 'do not call' list as well.

I have just spent the last hour on the phone trying to keep these people running in circles. Micheal Myers  at 800-818-8394 just called several times, I called him a criminal and screamed at him that he was trying to steal from my grandfather who is the "winner" of 5 million dollars. He gave us several numbers, a package number and even clamied that he would be delievering this money personally in a sports car. These people are pathetic. I explained that we had control of our grandfathers account because he was not well and we asked to be removed from this call list and hung up...... They called back several times. Please dont give any information to these phony scam artists.
