A guy with Indian accent called me to say that I won a prize that would be delivered by UPS in the evening. When I asked him to see a website where I could check he hung up, then called again saying the same and all I needed to do was to send a $150.00 Western Union prepaid card. Obviuosly I didn't do it.

The guy who called me sounded American, but was so bad at reading the script that I felt sorry for him.  Claimed to be a UPS delivery man.  I laughed so hard when he gave me his pitch that I think I hurt his feelings.  I called the number back just to see what would happen.  Got a voice  mail with a foreign accent.

I told them that if they showed up at my door to deliver a damn thing that they would be saying "hello to my little friend."

Funny ... nobody ever showed up.

This same number called my gtandparents tonight. He said they won 12 million dollars.and a brand new truck. All they had to do was go to walmart and money hram $750. Luckily I was here to talk to this thieving idiot because they were convinced it was true. They are almost 90 and are unfamiliar with the modern scams.

Glad you caught it, and prevented the scam!

There are several official websites that warn of scams against the elderly.  If you look at the right column of this page, you will see a section entitled "Latest Articles".  Take a quick look at 'em for some helpful advice.

I got this call too... scammers.. Wanted me to send him $$ to claim my prize. I contacted UPS and they didn't seem to care. Advised me to  "block" the number and who doesn't know to do that already.  I am disappointed in UPS for not wanting to take action!!!
These people have got to be stopped, preying on everyone like piranhas.
