9 pm this eve received call from Mr. Washington from Mega Bucks Sweep Stakes in Las Vegas stating I had won $2.5 million dollars. I only needed to cut a certified check for $299.00 and have I.D. available to be escorted to bank to deposit check for $800,000.00. I was to call Judith Meadows @ 1-876-420-6264 whos address is 408 Northwood Drive, Bedford, IN  47421.
I was asked my age and told him non of his business.  He wanted to know if we had any animals to use as security code for proper info to be given!
I feel this may have initiated because of a newspaper death notice that had been printed.  I did call the  number back and Mr. Washington answered with his very thick Pakestanian or Indian accent. He stated he had left message on my answering machine & he needed my name to look me up. I hung up!

Today I struck it rich.  Mr. Washington called me and announced I had won 2.5 million .  All I had to do was to go to Western Union and send $250.00 to Judith Meadows in Bedford Indiana and when I get the receipt he would send a Fed X certified check and a have ID ready.  I was not ready for another call but when he phoned again, I told him I had no money to send to get my prize.  He said his company would pay $150.00 if I could send $100.00 then he would give me my prize.  I tol;d him I had to borrow the money and then he called again as I did not send the $100.00.  I asked if he could pay the $100.00 I could take him to dinner and he told me to buy him a new suit.  Then he called again and I explained I could not borrow the money and had to wait for a check in the mail that was due tomorrow.  He said this was alot of money to risk and if I did not comply he would have to give the money to someone else. He will call tomorrow and I shall offer him 20% of my 2.5 million because I simply cannot borrow or send him the money he wants.  Iwould love to hear of any other calls and what did you do?

Of course I know it's a scam.  I just wanted to share thia silly story to anyone who wanted to trade their  Mr. Washington's charade.I  appreciate your reply and am wondering if you got a call from this idiot. He called me 8 times yesterday and I was amazed at his audacity to believe anyone would go along with his attempt to extort money under the guise of paying out lottery winnings.  I don't want anyone to think I for one minute believed him.  He should be put in jail.  I wonder how many people fall for his scheme and send money.  Clever of him to be out of the country.  Again thanks for your input.  How should we give him his comeupins?  I'm a disabled senior living on a small income and I would love to win a lottery but I'd like to know how he gets away with this.  He mentioned he was a man of God numerous times and congratulated me.  Think happy thoughts my friend and remember Karma is not just a 5 letter word. Bye for now and share your positive thoughts with those that will hear your wisdom.e6h4

    They are scammers!!

Just go to your telephone company web site and BLOCK the offending number, so it will not be able to come thru. If you do not know how, call their customer support!

But that's nothing permanent, because those Caller ID spoofers use a number for one day or so, then start to use some other number. The numbers they use are abandoned numbers, not yet reassigned by the telephone companies.
    From Wikipedia:

Caller ID spoofing is the practice of causing the telephone network to display a number on the recipient's Caller ID display which is not that of the actual originating station. The term is commonly used to describe situations in which the motivation is considered malicious by the speaker or writer. Just as e-mail spoofing can make it appear that a message came from any e-mail address the sender chooses, Caller ID spoofing can make a call appear to have come from any phone number the caller wishes. Because of the high trust people tend to have in the Caller ID system, spoofing can call the system's value into question.

It is amazing that such a crooked practice is allowed to go on!
Where are the feds when I need them????? I wrote to my US Rep...no response!

Bottom line: IGNORE IT and never give the other side ANY information. PERIOD!
