A lottery scammer called and asked for my deceased grandfather in a arabic accent. I told them he was deceased, but they took it that i was him. went on to tell me i had won 1.5 million dollars and a mercedes benz.  they were delivering a package to claim the winnings but i had to pay for insurance on the shipping. they gave me a western union name: michael murray at st. mary's blah, blah.  Told me to get a receipt for transaction and wait for the package (Ha, Ha!) They called back an hour later asking for the receipt number.  I told them they would get it when the package arrived.  After much argument, they gave me the number to their "UPS delivery dept.".  I called the number above and they verified that it had been delivered.  I asked for a tracking number- she didn't have it.  I asked her what UPS stood for- she didn't know, but to trust her that my money was on it's way!    Very entertaining phone call, but too bad these idiot scammers still get paid from unaware elderly.

He called my house and said I won a publisher's clearing house and when I told him I didn't want the money and to give it to a poor person, he said I must be a wealthy lady. Very persistent and told me it was complicated to get my name off the list since I wouldn't claim the prize.
