Call about whether or not I have received a call about a check.  Caller name and caller ID were blocked on this call, but I was able to verify it actually came from Kingston Jamaica area.  When I ask what his name was he said John Ringo.  I told him I had to call him back in 5 minutes so he gave me (876)447-2991.  To be fair, I informed him that I was notifying the authorities, and he started making threats.  He was very rattled by the fact I was notifying the authorities.  I am now going to try to contact the Jamaican authorities.

The number Was caller ID Blocked, but this is obviously a scam.  If you get a caller ID blocked or unavailable, ask who they are, and tell them you need to call them right back, you are in the middle of a meeting, get the number, and notify the authorities if you think it is a scam.  An unsolicited call from the Islands should be the first clue (area code 876 is Jamaica)

This same guy keeps trying to scam my boyfriends father. Next time he calls I suppose I'll say some terms that big brother will pick up on. I heard it only takes our government about 7 seconds to trace a call. :D

The man wanted to give me a check from Publishers Clearing House , however, first I had to give him $395.15 cash in order to send the check to me. When I asked him what his name was he said Michael and he was in Reno, Nevada. I told him I would call back tomorrow. He wanted me to call back in 5 min.. He was getting upset with me when I wouldn't go along with his opportunity.
