Received multiple calls from this area code all about delivery of contest winnings. Various calls claim to represent different organizations : Publisher's clearing house, Fed-Ex, Wells Fargo Bank, The Federal Trade Commission etc. Each time a courier is in the area ready to deliver prize winnings from some contest I never entered . When I tell them I never entered it becomes a winning based on random drawing of phone numbers. Each time I am told they need  money from me to verify that I am indeed the winner, process documents, and/or pay independent courier costs. So far payment has been asked for in the form of me purchasing a visa/American express/ mastercard gift card, or online through pay pal. Callers know my name, address, date of birth and there have also been calls from same area code directed at other family members. Be aware that local law enforcement does nothing to protect you. I was referred by the police to the Federal Trade Commission who referred me to the State Attorney General's Office who told me to make sure I was on the State and National DO NOT CALL lists. Of course, why didn't I think of that. Criminals wouldn't dare call me and try to scam me out of my hard earned savings if my name is on the DO NOT CALL list. Thanks for protecting the vulnerable.

My mother has lost thousands of dollar to this despicable people. They have her convinced that she has won a sweepstakes, and she keeps paying them in order to get delivery of the millions, along with a new car. Please don't fall for it!

my sister 80 yrs. has payed over 100000 dollars to a publishers clearing house scammer, she has no money left and is going to refinance her house. She won't believe it's a scam. I guess when all the money is gone he will move on to so one else. what scumbags!!!

Sorry to hear that.  Please be aware your sister may be on a "sucker list" since she was scammed.  She may get calls, not only from Jamaica, but from other thieves who want to take advantage of her.

Suggestion - go to the real PCH website.  I believe they have information on this scam there.  Hopefully  she will believe that.
