callback won't answer. Received call from this number

Same situation as Frank, I got a phone call from this number @ 4:21 in the morning and no one was on the other end of the phone.  I called the number back and no one answered.  

I traced the phone call to Cisco Systems as the provider of the phone number and they have no idea who it belongs to.   Imagine that, with all the technology in today's world, a phone company has no idea who is using a number they supplied.  Go figure.

"Cisco systems" is not a company that provides -phone numbers- The Phone companies do this, ie AT&T, LDMI, Bell, etc..
"Cisco Systems" provides system HARDWARE responsible for
sending and receiving phone calls. Think of the 'Cisco System' like a switch board operator. You dial a number, and the system makes the necessary connections to ring the number you called. Cisco in no way is responsible for creating, or assigning PHONE NUMBERS to companies.

Then why, oh guru, do we see "Cisco Systems" in the caller ID?
Because the company using that number does not have the numbered registered
for caller ID at the phone company, and thus, the SYSTEM used to send the call is Identified as the 'sender'.

What I might do in your cases, is call the major phone service providers (AT&T, LDMI etc) and see if the number is one that they have provided.
Chances are however, that this may simply be an unlisted number used for automated dial outs and your numbers were miss dialed by what ever company owns those numbers.

Also received call from this number at 5:15 am. Reported it to the FCC.  I don't care who it belongs to, they are going to quit calling or find out how clever my consultant friends are in telecom.  The FCC was just a nicety at this point.

Got two calls from this number on consecutive nights at 4:00 am.  Will also contact FCC.

I also received calls 2 nights this week. It is a fax tring to come through on my phone land line. 4a.m., 4:16, then the next night at 2a.m. x 3 til I took the phone off the hook. No one answers when you call back. No one at the phone company (Verizon) can help me. Any ideas? What will the FCC do and how do I contact them?

Got 2 calls from this number this morning.  One at 2:30 a.m. and another at 2:45 a.m.(just when I was getting back to sleep after the first one).  This annoys me to no end, and I'd love to kick the s.o.b. in the groin that owns this number.

called three times at night. heard a fax tone when picked up. anyone knows what to do with it?

I received three calls last night.  Two around 11:00 pm and one around 4:00 am.  It was a fax tone.  I called back in the morning but no one answered.

Got 2 calls (fax machine beeps) around 1:00am on oct 22nd 2007 in los angeles, my phone is an 805 area code cell phone. Tried calling back, it answers but you don't hear anything.

Got 2 calls this morning, one at 4 the other at 6. These also sounded like fax beeps.  We are on the do not call list, a lot of good that did.  We both have elderly mothers and a call that wakes us up is very scary.

We have been receiving calls from this number since we got the number 3 months ago.  Last one came in last night at 3:18am.  Same as the rest of the above posters, called the number back no answer.

This is insane that no one can do anything about it.

Getting multiple calls a day from this toll free number with nothing but a fax tone on the other end when I pick up...now they're calling at midnight and 2am!

i also have been gettting calls sometimes i will pick up and hang up and it will call right back.

Ive recieved over 200 calls from this number today. Its a fax beep. I forwarded the number to a fax and its someone screwing around send repeated cover sheets. Nothing but a joke. Noone is able to block these numbers. Surely there must be a way to find out who is the owner of this number. I will be fileing a police report.

Got a call at 2:00am and 4:30 am! I am furious! Called back, just rang.

Each week I get calls from 1-877-200-1344 5 or 6 at a time day or night apx 100 calls so far. Help.
