- Ty| 4 repliesThey stated I had a formal complaint against me, and I said Oh yeah., she preceded to give me the number above and I asked her where she was calling from and she said S.C. and I asked her what company she was with and she never stated! SCAMMERSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!
- jm replies to TyTy, have you heard anything more from these people? I also go the same call this morning. Wondering if it is true or not.
- KimI received a called yesterday at my job and from what my boss said, the woman said that she need my current address because I need to be served some papers, for assault. I have no idea who this is or what she is talking about.
- bradleyIm on leave from work and my supervisor called me at home with this number and case number. I called and the were very rude and wouldnt give any information. Is this a joke?
- Susan| 2 repliesI got a similar call from these people claiming that I will be served if I don't pay off a debt. Any more information from these guys?
- Blondy replies to Susan| 1 replyI just got a call from them at my job is it real or what do you know
- kimI just received another call from them saying something totally different now, when I asked the young man who he worked for, he SC. I still don't have any more information than I had this morning. From what the man said I going to be served papers to go to court for fraud. I then told the man I had a fraud alert out on my credit because someone has used my information.
- Susan replies to BlondyHe refused to send me written notice and insisted that he would be serving papers.
Straight from the FTC website:
"What does the debt collector have to tell me about the debt?
Every collector must send you a written “validation notice” telling you how much money you owe within five days after they first contact you. This notice also must include the name of the creditor to whom you owe the money, and how to proceed if you don’t think you owe the money."
Next time he calls, ask him if he is aware of his obligation under federal law to send you a written "validation notice."
This is either a full on scam or a debt collector engaging in unlawful practices. I have not been able to determine which. I know that I am not going to give him my debit card information that is for sure!
We all ought to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the Federal Trade Commission. - DAWNIs this truly a scam?

- Call type: Debt collector
- SM| 1 replyI received a voicemail at my home number yesterday, they told me they would serve court papers to my house or my job if I didn't call them within 24 hours. When I called the number back no one answered and a voice mail came on saying to leave a message. I left no message but I called from my cell phone and they called my cell phone back this morning and left a message telling me they can help me with this matter. Her name was Lauren Wilson and she said she was from 1st american solutions 803 675 5209. I'm thinking this is a scam, I have no idea who these people are or what they want.
- Caller: First American Solutions
- Susan| 2 repliesI am now almost certain this is a scam. They no longer answer calls from my telephone number and when I called from another phone "Eric O'Neill" gave the name of a different company rather than "First American Solutions" or "FAS" as he had called it in the past.
Particularly telling is the fact that when I asked him to send me validation in the mail, he said no and then told me I must pay by debit card over the phone.
I have never taken out the loan he suggests I owe money on and I have not been "served."
DO NOT GIVE THIS PERSON YOUR BANK CARD INFORMATION! - Sloan| 1 replyI got a call from these nice folks. They tried using psychology on me and tried over and over again to pump information out of me. I told them if they think it owe them some money file a petition in court. Note if they are calling you at work ... you can tell them to stop calling you at work and they are supposed to stop.
- Suggestion replies to SusanCall the number you were given & ask for the general manager or director of operations & he will supply you with whatever you need or request. I have informed him of these posts & he provided me with everything i requested. You may have spoken with someone that was being lazy. He said they are trained to provide company name, number & address on request along with any other info regarding the situation pertinent to that individual. He said that no one is asked to address anything that they are not responsible for so most of these posts are not being 100 percent truthful & they are misguiding some well meaning individuals.
- Echo replies to SloanI too got a call from this Eric Oneal regarding a loan or something? He said if i didnt pay a processor server will be at my home or my job. Since then ive had to hire an attorney in which i didnt even have the money to do so. Now im in more debt!! Thanks for all the good advice, i was served papers at my home prolly 3 days after. Again thakns for all the good advice....
- Susan| 1 replySuggestion, have you been contacted about a debt that you owe? If so, how was it resolved? Please share your wisdom. If not, what interest do you have in this conversation and why should we believe what you say over the actual experiences that we all have had?
Even if the general manager says he will do all of those things, the practices of this "business" seem to be in violation of Federal Law. I encourage anyone who has been contacted by these folks to thoroughly read The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (15 U.S.C. 1692) linked below and take note of the litany of potential violations taking place.

I am not a lawyer and therefor cannot give legal advice but common sense dictates that even if you think that you do owe a debt, you DO NOT HAVE TO GIVE THEM YOUR DEBIT CARD INFORMATION OVER THE PHONE even if they insist that you do. Tell them that they can no longer call you and that all future communication must be by mail. Do not give them your address.
Know your rights and don't let some scummy debt collector take advantage of you. - SusanHere is a similar thread reporting on the unlawful practices of this "company":
