- Gaylenumerous hang up calls. I finally called the number back. They are American Broadband and told me they are calling because they share all verizon accounts and need to let me know there may be a price reduction on my Verizon plan. When I questioned whether they are verizon he said no. I asked how he could possibly know if Verizon has a price reduction for me if he isn't with Verizon. I told him what he needs to do is immediately take me from the calling list he hung up on me.
I called again to ask the name of the company and the lady was very nice and said she would remove our number from their list???
I plan to call verizon now but I'm betting they have no recourse and I have to continue to be bothered by these people- Caller: American Broadband
- DaveKeep getting calls from this number. If I answer the call I get a recording that says "goodbye" and the call disconnects. I just called the number and a man answered the call as American Broadband. I asked to be removed from their list as well as filing a compliant with the donotcall.gov site.
- Caller: America Broadband

- William FrederickSeveral calls, at afternoon and early evening hours. Called back once, but no one on other end, which just played music.
- Caller: not indicated "out of area"
- dougger| 3 repliesThe caller identified as 'Dawn' said she was from verizon. The FCC has recently split up Verizon and American Broadband was adding people in the area with a discount rate as a part of the ruling. The new rate would be approx. $20 less per month. She gave me a customer service number, 1-866-765-2628. Her call=back number was 1-877-208-4082 ext. 253. I guess I need to dig some more.
- Caller: Verizon
- dougger replies to dougger| 2 repliesContacted Verizon. They are not selling out to American Broadband. This was a phishing call. Do not fall for it.
Verizon may be 'branching off' some rural areas to Frontier who specialize in rural services. This will not happen for about a year and all Verizon land line customers will be advised ahead of the transaction. The transition will be 'seemless' without having to transfer to another company.
I hope this helps someone. - Ldrgil replies to douggerMy 80 year old mother fell for this! They promised she would not lose Verizon. Took a week to port the number back to Verizon and now American Broadband want 70 bucks for a week of local service. Try calling any department and you get an answering machine! Call the office manger Mr. Dave Noe, Office Manager - (419) 824-5815 He won't pick up either but you can at least have a way to complain. And file a complaint with the BBB!
- KathyGot a call from this number 2/10/10 at 2:00 PM--said hello and nothing. I waited maybe 5 seconds and hung up. It's happened before with this number.
- 123just got a call from 1-877-208-4082. a computer said that it was a conference call, then the line went blank - no one there.
- Caller: unknown
- ShaunaI switched and it is saving me money. I've had it for two months and nothing has changed except how to check my voicemail. I am not happy with Verizon because we can't get decent internet service and even the dial-up is slower than anything I've ever seen. Just a few miles up the road Verizon offers DSL but not to any of the 100 or more people on my road.
- Caller: American Broadband
- Call type: Telemarketer
- LeiGrandmother received a call from the number and after two "hello's?" the person on the other line stated "Why dont you go die?" before hanging up.
- Caller: Unknown
- Do not callThey keep calling and hanging up--must be a scam! They say they are from Frontier phone company but they are NOT.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Yvonne| 2 repliesI got a call and a young guy said he NEEDED to speak with the person who was responsible for paying the Frontier phone bill. I told him (without thinking, duh) that we don't have Frontier and was mid-sentence asking him to take us off of their call list when he hung up on me.

- Donna from Brookville Ohio| 3 repliesI just received a call from 877-208-4082. The lady asked me if I was in charge of the Frontier phone bill. I replied asking her who is this and she hung up on me. I called the number back and a guy answered and said he was a company who helps people switch phone service because of the many Frontier complaints. I told him I was on a no call list and to take me off his list. Since I have caller ID, next time I'm not going to answer the phone.
- Caller: American...something
- another victim replies to Donna from Brookville OhioI just received a call from this number and googled it to see everyone else history with it. I got the "goodbye" message when I answered the phone. I called it back and they did answer America Broadband. I told the operator that I had no interest in what they were offering after seeing this information. I asked to removed from the list and he politely said okay. I said do you need the number and said that would help. LOL
- Patti SmithReceived a message stating that our bill was coming due in ten days and that we could make a payment by phone. I called the number back and the person answering the phone stated "American Broadband" when I stated that I received a phone call stating we owed a bill the person hung up.
- Caller: American Broadband
- Call type: Debt collector
- lynn replies to Yvonne| 1 replyIf you have verizon or frontier it is the same --frontier took over verizon but I don't know if it was every state.
Just got that call myself, I figured if he was legit he would know me by name. I didn't listen to what he had to say just told him to send me a letter. Than I hung up. - lynn replies to Donna from Brookville OhioIn today's world it is best never to answer any numbers you don't know. That is what I do but sometimes I am near the phone that doesn't have caller ID. Too many scams out there today to trust anyone.
- AwesumdoveReceived a call from this number. All I got was a "goodbye" and the call disconnects. It is American Broadband and don't want to continue being bothered with telemarketers or worse yet phishing calls.
I just added them to my "Do NOT Call" list but it will take 31 days to discontinue. If it continues I will file a complaint with the donotcall.gov site.- Caller: American Broadband
