I've been getting calls from this 'law office' about a debt that was 10 years ago. Told her about the SOL and she threatened me with sending a form to the IRS. What's with that?!

These clowns have been calling me for almost 2 years.  I never answer unfamiliar numbers and this one has earned a place on my do not ring list.  They always leave a message stating they need a call back today, but have never stated what they are calling in regards to.  The only old debts they may be trying to collect on were mistakes and corrected by the companies years ago.  If you are reading Chad Steur Law, you will NEVER, I repeat NEVER NEVER get a call back from this one!  Have a nice day.

I received a phone call from 1-877-209-4155 & I didn't answer the phone at all . A lawyer downtown says that the people can't harass you about a bill you owed to them at all . You can press charges against them for harassing you about a bill you owed to them.

Funny how you said that. They called and informed me they were a law office and Federal Pacific is their client and they purchased a debt that is in statute with the intent to litigate. I ignored it and sure enough, I am now getting garnished. These people are the real deal and not some scam. I would call while you still have the option

Just because your debt is over 7 years old, doesn't mean it isn't owed. It means the statute of limitations is past and they can no longer sue you or report on your credit. But the debt is still owed. I though the same thing until they submitted a 1099-C form to the IRS and now I owe the IRS money for it

Well, then maybe you can do us a favor and post the full company name, physical address, and name(s) of the attorney(s) that successfully sued you.
This would in no way expose your personal info and will be public record anyway via the docket number on your judgement papers.

Why not just answer the phone and get it cleared up instead of having them leave messages? If you're so certain that it's a previously paid debt, why not get the calls ended?

They identify themselves as "Law Offices", yet when I ask them which law office, they dodge the question. Best thing to do is call them after hours (usually after 8pm EST), and leave a voicemail. Be stern; they are when you talk to them and it's the only way to get through to them. After I left a message, they stopped calling.

Courtney at Chadster Law called me to find my mom. She spunded pretty trashy and unprofessional (I have worked at some of the finest law firms in the country.)  She said my mother left my number as a possible contact regarding a legal matter they cannot discuss.  (My mother never had the new cell phone number at which they called me, but I did not say anything about that until later.). Courtney was short and rude about any questions I had.  After hanging up, I lookedonline and couldn't find any website for Chadster Law--which is uncommon for a law firm.  Further, I saw complaints such as the one on this site. So I called Courtney back and she was so rude. She yelled at me and over me full throttle when I asked her to site their firm's identification for the third time after her tying to  evade my question.  I asked what they specialize in. She refused to tell me.  I asked if they were a collection agency and she said that is one of their services, but she started yelling at that point that they were in Utah and there's no reason for me to need ro know.  She totally mischaracterized that I said I would report report her message to my mother and that we talk all the time. It was awful. She kept yelling over my questions like a total cat fighter. I told her there was nothing professional, reasonable, nor legitimate about her conduct that led me to believe I should deliver any message on their behalf and to note that not only would I not deliver her message, but that I would report her. She, after that, kept asking me to listen, listen, listen. I told her that after the way she yelled, lied, and behaved, I have no desire to hear more. She said over and over they  have removed my name and number from their list, contacts, etc. I said they never should have had it in the first place and asked how she got it and felt she could lie and say my own mother gave it to her. Needless to say, this is not a professional law office.

It's called a1099-c , no statute of limitations with the irs. Earned income is what your bad debt turns into because you received goods and services and never paid... Have fun paying the irs !
