Picked up phone and there was silences on the other end

called twice today, no message left

Called and did not leave a message, so I called back...see below.

Call, but no message.

Number called me today only to be greeted by what I assumed was a nice lady from "CitiBank" whom asked me three questions:

Is this XXXX XXXXXXXXX?
--- Yes

Do you have a father of the same name?
--- NO

Is the last four digits of your social XXXX?


At this point I literally lost it as there has NEVER been a call that I have ever received where I was asked those questions. Furthermore, the way that these questions were phrased made it seem like they were attempting to put together a profile to steal my identity. Maybe I am paranoid or maybe this is a new branch of citibank dedicated to making the person at the other end of the line feel a little uneasy.  

This company calls my home looking for someone and I am elderly and sick of it.

going through a divorce, card is in his name & of course he won't pay the bill.....not paying on something that is not mine>>>>

Asked for an ex-husband-wouldn't say who he was or why he was calling-very annoying.

they called but left no message, no id, why bother? this number is blocked.

want them to stop calling

Consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

I had the same phone call...they wouldn't say how they got my number....they gave me there name & wouldn't say why they were calling.  I didn't appreciate their phone call - I had to google them to find out they were a debt agency!  They kept saying a personal matter...even when I called them back and acted as if I missed there call!

initial call went to the answering machine, they called back immediately. I answered and they asked for a Steven Beans, then they asked if I had his phone #. If I never heard of him and this has been my # for 24 years, what makes you think I have his phone #?!

Not answering but I'm pretty certain its a debt collector. Had a call from a similar number mixed in and that one left a message saying they were a debt collector. However, this particular number leaves no message. I don't know why they are calling, I haven't missed any payments. I usually get these calls when I am late on a bill but this time I'm not. Doesn't matter, I'll pay it when I can ;). They can call all they want.

Sorry, me again, they did leave a message. It says "This is a call from FMA Alliance, a call from a debt collector. Please call 877-218-6023." How about "no", lady?

They are calling me even on sunday.. do not know who they are...never leaves message....

I did not answer because I know who it is. It is a debt collector. I get these when I am late on a credit card bill or I am over the limit. Voicemail said "This is a message from FMA Alliance. This is a call from a debt collector. Please call 877-218-6023. Thank you."
