According to Wikipedia, this 'organization' only donates 6% of all funds raised in service to veterans. Additionally, they have been accused of harassment for their repeated calling of individuals they believe to be veterans or currently in the military. Complaints have been filed in all 50 states. It is also not a 501(c) (3) public charity.

According to the BBB Wise Giving Alliance, this organization either has not responded to written BBB requests for information or has declined to be evaluated in relation to BBB Standards for Charity Accountability.

Charity Watch examines charities and hands out grades. They gave this organization an F.

In my view, this organization is stealing from Veterans who need our assistance. Disgusting.

I get calls many times a day, and the phone rings 1 time. I am so sick of this. I don't answer, but even if I wanted to it only rings once.

They  call several times a day....I do not answer,  and they  leave no message...they want money  (so do I)....

Same old stuff.  No message.

For two weeks, I have been receiving calls from this number.  They are unwanted.

I receive constant calls from this number ( as do, apparently, many other people.) There is never a message, but the calls come to my office and are a constant disturbance ( 6 to 8 times a day, including weekends.)

My husband answered a robocall from Foundation for American Veterans and (stupidly!!!) gave them his credit card number for a $20 donation.  After I found out about it, I had him cancel his credit card number and have a new one issued.  The credit card company said it is a legitimate company, but a new card with a new number was issued anyway.

I blocked the number and did a little research and found that Foundation for American Veterans is a legitimate charity, however a very small percentage of donations actually goes to veterans with most of the money going to administration and professional fundraisers.  We received a solicitation for another donation from them in the mail, and they state in their brochure that donations go to purchasing sweatshirts and socks and similar things for veterans.  With most of the donation going to the fundraising company, sweatshirts and socks is all that the remaining money can afford.

Called twice in a half hour, said they wanted to thank my husband.  Wouldn't say show they were.  Just said Thank you and hung up.

I made the mistake of talking to them once and then donating.  I subsequently, looked up the organization and learned that the bulk of the funds were not effectively used to help the veterans.  I have now blocked calls from this "Charity" under three different telephone numbers.  I'll probably have to block another number tomorrow and another the next day, etc.
