I had a charge for 9.70 as well.  My credit card company is looking into this matter.  I NEVER made the charge!

This is totally related to equifax.... but not exclusively them. You had to have bought a product from them (processed by certegy) with a press release on their website < http://www.certegy.com/FISPressRelease7-3.pdf > detailing the theft of millions of card details. Most people are hit once by Fabritex... see https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-832-519-1980/ --- then again a bit later by World Trade.

Unfortunately you will need to cancel your card and get a new card number.

I wouldn't shop at equifax or tie rack either (by card) until there is some sort of official statement this has been sorted out.

I checked my bank statement, and saw a charge of 9.65.
Called my bank, they're sending me afidavit of fraud to be fiiled out.
Called the 877-225-8813 number, very vierd recording.
This is definately a fraud

I never received a call but when I received my bank statement in February I noticed a charge from World Trad , 600 Anton Boulevard, CA for $9.70 on the date:  1/22/08.  I had purchased an item via debit card on the same date from Office Max in Selma CA.  I researched the phone number listed on my statement and it matched 1-877-225-8813.  I am filing a claim through my bank.  I NEVER either made this charge.

I too had a charge on my debit card for $9.75. I reported it to the bank. They gave me that phone number and I got the recording that everyone else got. I cancelled my card and ordered a new one. Really sucks. Mastercard no longer stands behind fraud charges on a debit card so the bank didn't give me the money back. Nice.

Thank you for this log.  I now know that the charge on my credit card is a faud.  I have fill a report with my bank.  Is this only happening to mastercard holders?

I just got hit by these creeps as well.  I ordered a credit report a few weeks ago with a Visa, and got hit for $9.65.

Didn't get a call from them, but a charge to my credit card 2/21/08, World Trade 877-225-8813 CA, same thing, $9.65 charge, answering machine at the ph#, left messages, no reply.  Have reported to my card services, will alert them to this site.

call received.  Reported to bank need to go through the aggravation of
disputing the charge, cancelled card.

Me three... I used to work for Certegy and received a letter a few months ago that my information had been included in a database on a contractor's laptop that was stolen. I just received a notice today from the credit monitoring company that my credit file is OK, then I see this today on my checking account. I guess I feel better that it appears they only hit you once, but I'm really glad I found this site to validate that it is in fact a fraudulent charge. How annoying on a Friday.

Found a charge on my Bank account called WORLD TRADE  the charge is $9.75
called my bank to dispute and flag it as FRAUD

It's probably a fishing scam,, interesting though I had multiple Virius's on my computer approx. 15 including win.32 and trojans

In terms of reporting it needs to be reported to the Federal Trade Commision at 1-877-FTC-HELP (1-877-382-4357) and if you ignore all the prompts and press 450 each time then you get routed directly to a person and you can file a complaint.  It can also be done online at FTC.gov.  I recommend calling, it's a bit easier and you get a case reference number.  I've already reported it but FTC can only take down info pertinent to YOUR experience (IE they don't accept that I offered that this is happening to many people or my offer to tell them all the alias names of the company) so the more reports the better (I assume).  Good Luck!

I never received a phone call (that I can recall) but a $9.70 charge appeared on my VISA credit card 2/25/08.  Merchant:  World Trade 877-225-8813 CA.  Chase (my VISA Bank)has removed the charge and disputed the amount back to the merchant.

They just took $9.75 from my account.  I ordered something from Amazon the same day.  I emailed them to let them know...I think they may have gotten the infor from there somehow.  I tried calling the phone number 877-225-8813 and it is no longer in service.

I received my Visa statement with a mystery transaction from World Trade 877-225-8813.  I called my credit card company and told them that I have never heard of this company nor did I order anything from them.  Visa removed the charge from my card.  Thank you VISA!!!  I googled the phone number and found all these posts.  I will be cancelling my card very soon.  How did this company get my number???
