It's a scam. They call you and tell you that they're sending a courier to your home or work, etc etc. First off, that's illegal. If they're really suing you they have to file with the courts and the courts send notice via certified mail. They know they are scamming you and can't legally get a dime out of you so they call and try to frighten you into giving them money. Do not give them anything. Hang up on them or tell them to no longer contact you.

Debt collections scam.  No legitimate process server calls you in advance and tells you they are coming by.  Ignore and block the calls.

Debt collection scam.  If there is a court action against you you'd have been notified by the attorney for the other side.  Debt collectors are not usually licensed to serve any kind of court-related document.  You can check this out by simply going down to your local main civil court and ask if your name appears on the defendants civil list.  Usually the clerks are familiar with this sort of scam and will be glad to help you out.  Ignore these people and block their calls.

Received a call from a Alex Golden from A-1 courier saying he has sealed documents for my husband. He even called my in laws. He left this number 877-227-0887 to call because they are the people sending the documents. I googled A1 courier and called every one and they do not deliver in NC nor do they have a Alex Golden working for them.

This is a scam. They called from 323-406-5892 stating that they have some sealed documents to deliver, and if I wanted to know what the contents were I had to call 1-877-227-0887. When I called, they asked me for my name, and tried to verify my SSN number. They got my number wrong, and they said I had a legal matter in which they were investigating me. They tried to fish some information out of me. Do not respond to them. If it were a real legal matter, they would need to send you information via certified mail.

It seems that the company got bored with the old scam and found a new one.  Read on to find out what they are doing to people now.  I am looking into how to report this to someone besides just online.  I have been getting calls from an unknown number for about a week now and finally was able to get a voicemail that said "My name is Mary Lewis and I am contacting you regarding an urgent issue, I have and order for a serious matter against ..... if we are unable to reach..... this office will have to continue to locate them at their place of employment and personal residence, you have a right to resolve this matter, it is critical we speak to ..... please contact me at 1-877-227-0887, please reference file number 10834635 or press any button to connect to our office immediately.  So I called it not knowing what it was.  I know stupid right?  But any way, so when I called a women who said her name was Loraine Russin answered the phone and new all of my personal information and told me that I owed pay day loans which I have never taken a loan out in my life besides my car loan.  She said that the amounts add up to $1,500.00 but if I didn't take her up on her offer to pay them down and get a good deal on paying them down I would get served and have to go to court and the amount would be about $4,000.00 because of attorney fees and what not.  She said there was tons of ammo against me and I should just pay it.  I said I am not paying anything because I didn't take out any loans.  The three companies she named that I supposedly took the money from is EP processing which I have never heard of, Vince Enterprise again never heard of it, and Midland financial.  So If you get a call from the number above do not call it back or worry about it, it's a scam.  I am going to figure out though how they know all of the information that they know cause that is super scary.
