I also picked up the call, but no one was on the line.  I held on to see if anything might happen, and eventually the line disconnected.  When I searched online, I see that this could possibly be a "tracer" call -- that is someone seeing if a line is active and then selling that line to a third party.  Here's the link to a website referencing the phone number identified on caller ID's:
