This company has been leaving 2-3 messages a week on my voicemail for the last 2 months.  They have never asked for a specific person or stated the reason for the call.  It is simply a pre-recorded message of a female voice stating "please call the best service company at 877- 237- 8500 ext 163"

I am receiving repeated calls on my answering machine from 877 237-8500x163.  They call themselves The Best Service Company.  I do no business with anyone by that name and am on the do not call list.

This is a call from a debt collection service.  I'm in So CA do the caller ID shows as if local number for me.  The message asks for me to  call 877-237-8500 ext 163.  I owe money to Union Bank

Called and left automated message. Called them back and we had a debt from Bank of the West that has since been cleared. Its a debt collection agency but its a little weird, when I gave them my name which was left on the message they needed my phone number to look up my info. I told them I preferred not to do this but could not look up my info without my phone number. So I gave them my number and after looking up my info they saw the debt was cleared and took me off their list

It is a collection agency (or at least using the name of a known collection agency), however I'm not sure how on the level they are. They're claiming I owe a bank money on an account I closed out in 2005. They have no info about how the debt was accrued, and when I called the bank, they were able to find documentation on the account being closed with a zero balance.

They also said this debt was on my credit report, but it isn't.

So I would just say be cautious about just handing them over a payment. Do a few minutes of homework, and make sure it's a debt you REALLY owe, and not some made up way for them to squeeze money out of you.

THIS IS A NUMBER USED BY THE BANKERS' DEBT COLLECTORS.  I owe money to BANK OF THE WEST because they charged me $30.00 per overdraft on $5 charges then didn't even bother to call me when I didn't pay - just sent it to collections.   Take the power back,  END THE FED!

Yes, this is The Best Service Company. They leave automated msgs on my phone anywhere from 3-10 times per day... including weekends. If they have a legitimate claim, then they need to put it in writing and mail it to my home. Every company that I've ever dealt with, who has given me credit or a payday loan, required that I put down my home address.  I did.  And when I moved, I put in forwarding orders, so they have my street address.  Until they send me something in writing, they can keep on calling (as annoying as it is). Because they will probably slip up soon and then I am going to sue them for harassment.  We've got to turn the tables on these bill collectors. Some are legitimate and follow the FTC guidelines, but most (particularly these days) do not follow any of the rules... and if they won't play by the rules, I refuse to play with them at all. People, get to know your rights and then fight for them. Together, we can stop the harassing craziness which has become a common practice for them. If we start to make them PAY to play, then we will put these bottom feeders out of business.

These [***] keep calling me about my ex-wife owing money to Bank of the West. I have no idea how they even got my number as I am in NO WAY associated with her or her financial affairs. Everytime I get a call they either do not answer the automated message or they simply hang up on me. WTF?

Just got a call today 12/31/2010. I have had this new number suppose to be unlisted what a joke. They used a local number in hopes that I would pick up. I never pick up to numbers unknown since I started recieving calls like this the very same week I recieved the new number. Forget the dont call registry its a joke. I have reported several numbers and they still call. What a joke it is that these people have nothing better to do is harrass innocent people for their jollys!

they call and ask for you by just first name.  then want a outragies amount of money, for something you know nothing about.  the never give up call every day they al so have another ohone number 310-477-0471.

They are calling my parents house couple times a day lookin for me and i'm 35yrs old

The number is from Best Services and they are a debt collector.  They were calling me about an account that was paid in full in 1999, but they claim the company forwarded the claim to them in 2007... ?????
Now they would like me to pull up my documents from 1999 proving the account was paid... WTH???? Needless to say, it is being disputed.... but I did tell her to only contact me in writing from this point forward....

Best Service,  also calls from a 310-359-8462.    They just never stop.  when i answer the phone it takes a while before someone actually says anything back.  wierd.  i don't owe anything but its annoying.

you people are just losers.  It's a collection agency and they are calling you for a few reasons:

1). You owe a debt to a bank that charged your account off.  Banks and credit unions have to zero out your account before they charge it off.  That doesn't mean you don't owe it, just means it's off their books and they will try to recover it via a collection agency.

2). You have someone living there that owes...

3).  They simply have the wrong number.  Might be a case of right name but wrong person or just plain wrong number.  Simply tell them it's the wrong number and they should stop.  If they don't then you have a case.  90% of the time if you call back and tell them you're number (your name isn't going to work because their may be plenty of people with your name) they will erase it from their system.

Now, for you [***] that think being on the DO NOT CALL list is going to work, IT DOESN'T.  Collection Agents aren't telemarketers, it does not apply.  Collection agents, despite the media's horrible and misleading representation of them, are collecting on people that actually owe something.  I always look at it like not paying a debt is more faulty than the collection agents but go figure...

I was told by PMCU(Pacific Marine Credit Union) that my credit card had gone to collections. I went into PMCU and this is the number they had given me to the collection agency. As far as i know this number is legit and i havent had any problems "YET"
