Received a call, I have a few things unpaid and knew I might actually need to pay something so I called them back gave them my number (how would they know why they called if I didn't tell them something.?) He then very professionally asked me to verify a few things first my name,  which he gave to me. Then my address, also given by him and I told him it was not a current address.  He did not ask for a current one at this point.  Then he said he had my soc. In front of him and that he was going to read off the middle two digits and ask me for the last 4. He gave me two numbers which were not in my soc. And I told him that, he thanked me for my time and apologized for the inconvenience.  And we said good bye. Not sure who he was looking for but he didn't ask for any personal info that he didn't already have, and seemed to know all he wanted to know anyway... When I wasn't who he was looking for he was very polite.

This is a company called First Point.  They are a debt collector. I DO have a bill that I owe from an old insurance company that they are trying to collect on.  So, for everyone that said it's a scam.  It's not. They are legitimately trying to contact me for this debt I have.  I do have them blocked only because I don't want to talk to them, but I'm paying down my debt through their website.

Received call asking for me to id myself. When I asked who is calling they said it was a business call for John, but they wouldn't id themselves.

Got a call from this number on my cellphone today: 2/2/2015. I didn't answer since  "800" numbers are/were for incoming calls only. At least that was the deal when I worked for the Bell System in the 1970's. I always use this site if I receive dubious call and I've never been disappointed.

BS.  I'm not behind with any bills and they have no reason to call me.

keep getting regular calls from this number, I dont answer and they dont leave a message

This is a scam, just received a phone call. They acted like they were first point collections. Then hung up on me and were not very nice when I wouldn't give them my information.

Calls and leaves a robo message

I received a call from this number on my voicemail about two hours ago. Same story as the above postings; they're looking for someone who is not me to collect a debt. They identified themselves as First Point Collections Resources. The message asked me to call 1-877-412-4704 if I wasn't the person they're looking for. I called the number and left a message that I wasn't whom they're looking for, that I've had the same phone number for over 10 years, and then I told them to please not call me again. I supplied them with no other information. We'll see if I get any more calls.

"Attempted to collect a medical debt" and got really aggressive with me on the phone. I live in SC so I guess they have moved from NC to SC. TOTALLY A SCAM!!!!

Same thing just happened to me....Wanted me to tell them my birthday and social and address when I told her that I would NOT give this info out to tell me what they were calling about or I was going to hang up she repeated that they had to confirm I was who I said I was so I hung up and blocked the number

Started getting calls from this # after I created an account on "CREDIT KARMA". I will NOT give out my personal info over the phone. Something hinky going on if they cant tell you why they are calling. Also keep calling after telling them to stop. Going to block

I just got a call from this 877-240-9722 number at my job on my desk phone. This guy was very adamant about wanting to verify who I was and what my address was before he told me what this was all about. I asked him in a stern voice what he wanted and he just said that he needs to confirm that he is talking to the right person and without verifying who I was or any other info I asked him again what he wanted that I was at work and he said that he will call again at a better time and hung up. I won't be answering this number again.

seems to be a debt collector.   called for one of my adult children on our number - fishing for a contact I guess.
We have only had our number less than a year, so none of our adult children ever used this number as a contact for them.

Why are you annoyed with me? I did not call, I simply put down who called you and what they wanted. Hmmm. Odd bird.

they called my phone, and it was a computer that instructed me to wait for next representative. I waited because I had received calls from this number before. some guy comes on the line, wants ME to verify who I am...I told him "you called me!" so he recited an address, and the last four of a social security number which were correct but I didn't verify it. Told me that federal law prevented him from stating the nature of the call unless I verified who I was. I told him to mail me somthing which he said they did..I have never received anything showing  I owe anyone money that I havn't reconciled.. I hung up on him
I do not owe anyone any money that is not reconciled, nor is there any reason for me to get a screwy call like this. I was in an accident a couple years ago and there were medical bills that were not reconciled for quite some time due to insurance issues, etc..I am assuming that because of this, my information was released , and some screwy company like this got it. I am now scrutinizing my credit report all the time to make sure I dont get frauded somehow..Its a crime that companies can do this. Whether or not I owe someone money, that shouldnt give anyone any justification to release your personal information like this.

I got a call from this number wanting personal info about me and asked them about the nature of the call and she was very rude.  She said she would record that I refused to cooperate but she was the one who would not cooperate.
