Called and asked for people with different first names but same last name as mine.  Told them they have wrong number for the two people they were looking for.  Women apologized and said they would remove my number for those people.  Well they called again today, so u r blocked!

Left message on my answering machine, with a call back number 1 877-240-9722. Stated she was calling me from a Debt Collection Company. Has to be a SCAM---- I do not have anything in Collections. The number that showed up on my CALLER ID was 877-240-9722 First Point Res.  Yea, I am not calling them back. Remember: Never give out your Social Security, Birthdate, or any Private Info over the phone.  AND there is  statue of limitations on old debt---check out how many years. In North Carolina it is 3.

Got a call today from this number and since for the past year or so, all I get are calls from toll-free numbers that I don't recognize, from "Unavailable," 3 and 4 digit only or several disjointed numbers that make no sense at all, calls to my house phone with my CID  showing my own phone number or the number of my cell phone, I never answer and just let them, if they so wish to do so to have their calls go to my VM which I delete. Some I block if I keep seeing the same number more than 2 or 3 times. I'm thinking this must be from one of those scammers or a debt collector most likely.

RE: above comment posted by me earlier: The person who called actually did leave a message I just became of, and it was, indeed, a debt collector but I deleted the message as they were giving the name of their so-called "company."

Everything you need to know is on page 5.  That will enable you to do this:

You need to send them a certified, return receipt debt validation, cease and desist calling, or "not me" letter (think of it as the best $6.47 you ever invested).  Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it.  Make a notion of that fact at the bottom of the letter.  You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to.  Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment.  If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt and we would all be the richer for it.  Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front):  http://www.consumeradvocates.org/

I have bills but none of them is in collections status as I do pay on a monthly basis, all my creditors but this person or company I have never heard of. Purse Recovery or Purse Collections is what I think I heard. I didn't answer but the caller left a static-filled voice mail message, however, there was too much static to get too much information from the message.
