received a call from this number. google shows that this number belongs to Ashford University. I don't have anything to do with them.

I didn't give this school permission to call me... I didn't give them my phone number. Please stop calling me, remove me from you're phone date calling list. I'm not interested in your school. Thank you, Ashford University for respecting my wishes.

If you receive a call from them, it may be because you either applied to go to school there or someone that was accidentally entered your number. The school must follow Do Not Call registry. Be sure that you sign up for the do not call by going to donotcall.gov and have your number registered there.

Calls multiple times a day. Please stop or I will have to get serious.

I am so tired of these people calling me.  They call at least 4 times a day but never leave a voicemail.  It gets really annoying because I work all day and my phone is constantly ringing with these dilweeds.  I know that it's Ashford University, but I wanted information through e-mail.  I don't know how they got my cell number but I wish they would stop calling me!

You're exactly right. My wife deals with disgruntled callees regularly, who went flipping through a random website or employment website without paying attention to little check-boxes that say "Would you like information about furthering your education?". They DO NOT use dialers, and only call those who have expressed interest, either intentionally or unintentionally. Pay attention the next time you apply or sign up for something.

They call me at all hours, even on Sundays. There is never a voicemail. Today they sent me a text message demanding that I call them. I have no dealings with Ashford University. I am also on the do not call registry.  Please stop calling and by NO MEANS should you be texting me!

I get calls from these idiots all the time.  Do what I do, wait a bit and call back.  Hang up when they say the intro and start saying hello.  Makes them stop what they are doing, just like I had to.  Gives me pleasure, I do it 20 times a day or so.

Jut because your getting calls from a school doesn't 100% mean you requested anything.  Ever fill out for a loan, a job, a survey online where you had to give info to see the results?  What about looking for Grants because you're in school???

The game is played this way:  When you do this, the third party vendor who just got all your information sells it to schools for about $40 each time.  Not all are ethical, obviously. However the more schools they can sell you to, the more money they make because it's very unlikely you'll tell the school you didn't request info so the school can get their money back.

I worked for a school once where I was able to prove the names provided were being pulled from the phone book.  We even called people who's relatives related had been dead for a few years.

Answer the call and tell the school you didn't request.  

I'm just posting because they broke the law and called before 8AM.  Being I do the same job, I know for a fact that's illegal.

I'd also add posting "Do Not Call Me" here, won't stop it.  You have to pick up the phone and say that.
