    Irritated
2 different people called me back to back AT WORK.  The lady (Sierra Stevens or Stephens, not sure the last name spelling) and the guy was Thomas Whittaker.  She gave a script about a check...have NO IDEA what she's talking about because I only write checks to people I know.  He didn't say much but they both left the same phone number and the same case number...within 3 minutes of each other.  Is this legal?

I am getting the same message.  I don't know who they are or what they want. I do know we have rights it''s called The Fair Debt Pratice Act.  It is against the law to call a person at their place of work if they can't receive phone calls, it against the law to harrass a person verberly on the phone. It is also against the law for them to decuss you account with someone other than you. You can report them to the Federal Trade Commission. I have been taken by a debt collection once before who was collecting a debt that didn't belong to them, thank god I was able to retrieve my money back.  I thank they are a scam.

I received the same type of calll on my cell phone and they called my HR department and when questioned by HR to much they got real ugly with my HR department then they call from other numbers claiming this is the first time they call and when I ask them to verify my info and send me something in the mail they give an address 300miles away where I lived 10 years ago.  and I never receive any info in the mail so once I offered to send them money thru western union and they refused stated you can only use bank information or a prepaid debt card that way they are able to say you authorized payment and they can't be located.

I was getting phone calls from this person also. But i disconnect my phone, because i was tired of the threats. Now i recieved a letter in the mail, trying to collect a debt. I google there phone # 877-246-8829 and i see that i am not the only one. If you get a letter in the mail please do not fall for it. Its a trap to get you, since they cant call you, they will try by sending you letters. The name of the person who send me this letter is Aprill Celano she states on the letter that she is a Legal Assistant--Debt Resolution Services. These people are trying to get money from us one way or another. Please be very careful. The economy is bad right now and there are many scammers around.

I can top these.  I actually got a letter.  Yep.  Saying it was from D.R.S (Debt Resolution Services) out of Canada! Really?  They have to go to Canada?  I have no idea what debt they mean, I just recently got my credit reports there is nothing on there with these people and nor have I applied for anything in like 5 years.  They said they are collecting from a B.M.G?  The only BMG I know of is the music place through the mail, you know like Columbia House?   I have not ordered anything from them either, especially not for $430.00 like this letter states.  I guess when you update your credit report and make sure all is good, it gets the creeps out there going.  I couldn't get my transunion and wonder if its been tampered with?  I sent the letter back to them stating I also gave my attorney a copy. lol How are you going to try and threaten someone about something you've never gotten?  What a bunch of scammers.  I wasn't born yesterday.

No. This company is not a law firm, and violates the FDCPA and California Civil Code § 1788 over and over and over in a 3 minute phone call. My client was told they needed a 'Criminal Defense Attorney" when she said she was represented by our firm for a Ch.7. We may go after them for the numerous violations against the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

IF YOU ARE READING THIS BECAUSE YOU GOT A CALL FROM THESE SCAMMERS AND ARE WORKED UP INTO A NERVOUS TIZZY, PLEASE CALM DOWN NOW! YOU HAVE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT. They are annoying yes, but 100% harmless. As a matter of fact, if they impersonated law enforcement in anyway, you can take THEM to court.
    Anyway...
Got a call from some self-important tw*twaffle who said, "you are incontempt of a deposition from June 2009"  - talk about trying to throw around legal jargon!! That doesn't even make a lick of sense.
He must have had a mouth full of dog p*nises because I couldn't understand the "CASE NUMBER" ...
He also said he was SERVING ME with a civil suit - UM HELLO MORON, YOU CAN'T "SERVE" SOMEONE OVER THE PHONE. In the name of being confrontational and wanting to mess with these guys, I called back and asked for extension 107 (the one left on my voicemail) I talked to some joyless crotchwarmer named "Lisa". Before I gave my name, I explained the situation (unable to hear case number and needing something in writing, yada yada) and she goes, "FIRST OF ALL, WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?"  Wow! How professional.  No wonder you work as a collector in a cube farm that smells like burned coffee for $9.50 + "potential" commission that might just get you to $13 an hour.
I informed her that at this point it didn't matter and that I'll see them in h*ll before I ever pay one cent of that alleged debt.
I know a lot of people stumble on to this site because they got a call and are nervous wrecks but let me tell you with GREAT CERTAINTY nothing is going to happen to you!!! Tell them to stop calling and submit all correspondence in writing. They legally MUST if you ask them to under fair credit laws. They won't of course and more calls will = ILLEGAL so find a lawyer who will take your case and split your settlement 50/50 with you as his pay. There are tons taking on illegal debt collecting schemes because so many collectors are morons. I've already made $5000 off stupid collectors (what can I say, I was unemployed at the time, it worked out great... I had time on my hands and needed money!!)
THEY WILL NEVER TAKE ME ALIVE!!!!!

I received a call from Stephano Gambino, arbitration agent, saying there is a civil suit filed because I am in contempt of a deposition dated Oct. 04, 2010. He needs an official statement before paperwork is filed in my county court where I will be served to appear. About 30 minutes later I get a fax from Debt Reolution Services askin my HR Dept. for employment verification. The top left hand corner is checked off "client ordered" and below it states New Loan/Mortgage, Divorce Settlement, or Child Support Recovery. None of these apply to me. I will not fill this out and send it back. There is no address on it either.

Hey today they are Perkins law firm. lol  Boy I've gotten several different names, different law offices and new numbers.  Hey if you have a cell you can do a call block app for free.  The blocker is awesome it hangs up on them automatically, the new number slipped thru today and went to VM, but it won't tomorrow. lol Really?  A civil suit, then needing to verify it was me, etc etc.  If you were in a law suit, it would be mailed certified/signature required or delivered at your front door,  These poor people are trying to rip innocent people off and trying to scare them to suck them in.  This world is getting worse and worse.

I received a message from a Mr. Brian Baxter @ 877-246-8829 extension 115 who is claiming to be working in arbitration but he never said the company name he was employeed by but he gave me the parent company name of Bahamas Marketing Group (supposedly pay day loan company) & Premier Co. (company hired before his company) to contact me to get the supposedly loan settled but I never received any type of communication from them. I was also told by Mr. Baxter to contact him in a day or two  even after I gave him my bankruptcy lawyers information.

A friend of mine recieved the same message from a Brian Baxter @ 877-246-8829 ext 115, he stated that he was talking to the district attorney and that they were going to serve her papers at her job and that they were going to be suing her for a payday loan that she never even took out.  Stated it was Bahamas Marketing Group.  Any advice on how she can get her money back?  He told her she owed almost $3000 but he would settle it if she made a payment of $430, she told me she only paid him $200, that was all she had.  He was threatening her stating she would be arrested and she was about ti have criminal charges filed against her.

    NOT Betty Ward
877-246-8829: Thomas Whittaker, Regional Arbitration Services, keeps calling my number looking for "Betty Ward".  I tried calling the 888-900-3120 number they left on the message:  Hanson & Associates, mailbox full.  ????  I even tried calling the 877-246-8829 and got the same Hanson & Associates, mailbox full.

These people are really getting on my nerves.  I am not Betty Ward and am tired of getting calls for someone who obviously gave out false information.

How do we make them stop?
