This number appears to be legitimate. The voice mail I got named Horizon Credit Union Fraud Detection Unit and gave last 4 digits of a card number, full customer name, and case number. Because the name they gave was not mine and I have no account with Horizon CU, I looked up the phone number they gave to call back and found this website with a mix of opinions as to whether it was a fraud or legitimate. So I found the phone number for the local Horizon CU and called them directly to check. The customer service agent I spoke to looked up my phone number and confirmed it was associated in their system with the name that had been left on the voice mail. She confirmed that the voice mail had come from their fraud detection unit, apologized for the inconvenience, and thanked me for notifying them that the message had not reached its intended recipient. So this number appears to be legitimate, but it always pays to be safe and call your financial institution directly if you have any doubt.

That is exactly what scammers hope for when they call too.
Posting all the details of a call you think is legitimate will not reassure others that their caller will be legitimate too. Scammers spoof legitimate number/names to trick people into giving money or personal info they use to steal money from you.

Never trust a caller to be who they claim, always call from an official number to verify if they did.

I called my bank's customer service line because it seemed odd.  I was cut off from the call and went to a survey that didn't give the option of being answered.  Customer service said it was legit, the charges were real, and they cut off my card.

    Back at it...
Posing now as Northwest Community Credit Union. Scammers can glean the info they need from a "skimmed" transaction, like: Name, last four of the card, bank or credit union info, even an associated phone number, depending on where they are skimming. And, to add seeming validity, they tack on a "case number", like 1045638117 . Have you purchased anything or booked anything online and then, you receive a "fraud detection" call within 24 hours? Seem peculiar? And, of course, the voicemail is "urgent", or "immediate attention required". Fear-mongering is an effective method for obtaining entry into peoples financial assets. And yes, there are even
shills" that seed into blogs like this to legitimize the scam. Notice the word legitimize? NOT "legit". Slight slips give the scammers away. Speak directly with your bank by calling either the number on the back of your credit/debit card, or a customer service number that can be found on the bank's website or literature that they may send to you like card offers or bank statements, or, better yet, speak face to face with your banking associate. Don't be duped. Knowledge is power.

So why are you here? You already know who called you. Telling other people you got a valid call does them no good considering scammers spoof legitimate numbers all the time.

This is a legit call, they represent a number of banks, I received the message to call about suspicious activity on my account, I called my bank in my home town directly, they did verify that they use this company, if you are in doubt save the voicemail they leave, contact your bank directly with all the information, they will lift the freeze on your account.

This number called my number *and* my father’s cell phone claiming to call about a problem on my debit card. If it was legit, why would they call someone who’s not on my account and who’s number I never gave the bank?
