I received a call from this number saying it was CVS/Caremark with benefit information. They left a message on my answering machine with a number and 6 digit access code.  I do use CVS but this sounded suspicious.  I called the customer service number that is on the back of my prescription drug card to see if call was legit and was told that the number 877-255-1681 does indeed belong to CVS Caremark.  I then called 877-255-1681 and my call
was answered by a virtual person.  They were able to identify me from # I was calling from but wanted confirmation that it was me on the phone and asked for my birth year . I said "No."  The virtual receptionist kept asking for my birth year over and over and I kept refusing.  I eventually  responded "Representative" but the virtual receptionist kept on asking for my birth year, which I was not going to provide.  So I finally hung up the phone.  Even though, per Wellcare, it is a CVS Caremark phone number, it still sounded fishy.  If they really want to inform me of anything, they can send me a letter by regular mail or email me the information.  I am saying UNKNOWN below for Call Type since I do not see a category that pertains to providing benefit information.

I got a call from this number. Caller ID : Unknown Name. Left a message similar to the above calls. I would really like to thank everyone who posted here. I do have this coverage and the voice mail message sounded very legitimate. Did not really sound like a robocall. The message said they were going  to call back and I was going to answer when they called back. Thank you everyone taking the time to post. I will not answer any future calls. I think you may have saved my a**.

Left a message to call back, said they were Caremark, would call again.  Since no msg. was left about what they wanted, I won't try to contact them. Like earlier called said, they can email me.

Got 2 calls from this number. I gave my birthday which I should not have done. Also I was asked if this was me. I said yes which I should not have done. Never say yes on the phone. You  could be agreeing to something. I don't know who this caller is. I do not believe it is connected to CVS Caremark.

Received VM from this no.  Definitely sounded suspicious since I had called & spoken w-CVS/Caremark the day before for 20 minutes regarding a script. I always ask, "Any changes to my benefits or coverage?"  Answer, "No" and added any changes would be relayed my mail or email.  Call was certainly a SCAM!

They started the call with say yes or no. Called Caremark to ask because felt it was a scam. Was told they are not affiliated with #877-255-1681 and do not ask personal questions.

This is a legit call, not spam or telemarketing. It comes from a call center contracted by CVS Caremark to make clients aware of additional prescription services, such as automatic refills and contacting the doctor for renewals. The call center gathers info and relays to CVS Caremark. They verify your birth year for security to make sure the client answered the phone.

Same experience as noted above.  We do use Caremark but after asked for birthdate decided  this was a fishy call, and now blocked.

I received three calls from this number saying it was CVS/Caremark with benefit information. They left a message on my answering machine each time with a return phone number and 7 digit access code. I called  the 877-255-1681 number and entered the 7 digit code.  The automated message said to answer "yes" or "no" to the question 'are you ______ ______?"   Knowing that you never are supposed to say yes, this made me extremely uncomfortable as the question was repeated time and time again.  I hung up without replying.   Even though I do use CVS, this sounded really suspicious.  So, I called the customer service number on the back of my membership card and was told that there was NO recent attempt to reach me by phone.

Received a recorded call on Monday morning asking for my wife who has CVS insurance.  The call went to voicemail.  I was suspicious because the caller identified the carrier as CVS Caremark on behalf of Aetna.  We have no coverage from Aetna.  I am very glad I checked this website before returning the call.

Have had multiple calls from this number. As others have said, it is a recorded message which claims to be CVS calling about a prescription (in our case, associated with Aetna Insurance) - and wants to verify who they are talking with by answering "yes" or "no". Highly suspect this is a scam call (using a spoofed phone number) as we have never in our lives had any contact with Aetna... not even to compare policies during open enrollment periods.

As reported by others here, I too received a voicemail with the same content - that CVS was calling with important info about my coverage.  Thank you for the accumulated content here.

I DO NOT answer to prompts from auto-callers like this because it is NOT SAFE to give answers in such a situation.

Saying "YES" to verify our name can be captured by spammers and reused to get into our private info.
ANY replies we give, like birthdate, etc., can be captured by criminals and used to get into our files.

Therefore, we are advised to NEVER ANSWER AUTOMATIC PROMPTS.

    HANG UP.

Any changes to our health insurance policies should be coming to us in US postal mail.

I agree  with you. Also seem suspicious and  I did refuse to give my birthdate as well. Not a professional practice from CVS.

    WellCare customer
I, too, just received a call from this number. When the phone rang it wasn't a caller with an assigned ring tone so I was busy and didn't answer it because I knew it wasn't anyone I may get a call from. I looked on the back of my card and that number is not on my card...I called Wellcare & found out they did not try and contact me...So...I'm going to ignore the call I got and leave it be...

    Well are Customer
They call frequently. I never said yes to the first question asking if it was me for the very reason others here have mentioned. I once called the number on my Rx plan membership card and the live rep I spoke to said she never heard of this phone number, is and there was no new info for me to know about in my file. I had also logged into my Rx account online and looked everywhere; no messages for me . Caution!!
