they called my family member and left a voicemail threatening to file with the DA's office and arrest me.  Dont know how they got the cell number they called.  They left no information regarding the company and refused to geive me any.  Reported them to the Texas Atty General and also California Atty General.  They contacted me once before with a california number.

bill wissner from marvell and associates contacted me on 4 occasions and left threatening messages such as they were opening up a fraud investigation on me but never once told me what i owed or to whom i owed it to. after reading the fair collection notice, i also realized he also did NOT send me a letter within five days after first contact giving me the information about my debt. there is no reason to harrass people who have a debt. harrassment does not put money in peoples wallet, its not rocket science! bill, you do not know the circumstances that led to an unpaid debt so try a different approach and you may see different results! if you or your "company" continue to threaten me or harrass me iwill report you to the attorney general in your state and mine. people are not disputing they may have a debt but not everyone has the finances to repay at this time. and how dare you people tell people to stop being lazy or to get a job! shame on you!!!

Calls himself Rudy Baker from the Froud Department of Marvel and Associates concerning a civil mater in the county court.  The only Marvel and Associates I have been able to find is an Insurance accounting firm. Not sure what it's about, not returning the call

Rec'd call at 6:41am local time this morning, with a Mr. Cooper using threats about calling work, etc. Wants to "verify my address and personal info", says it's tied to a NSF check I wrote. Says I have refused 10 times to give him the info, so now he's going through MU County with some "legal act".
I've never heard from this guy before!
Also, calling at 6:41am is illegal to start with!!!!!!!

I changed my phone number so have not had any more calls but am now receiving emails from them saying they will settle for 50 percent of what I owe to a place called cash capital. I looked that name up and it is a reference site I believe. I had a payday loan with another company in the past and paid it off and even have the letter I asked for saying it was paid in full. I had the same problems as other people have mentioned on here being threatened with being arrested. I asked for a badge number and they gave me a number and when I asked what state and what law enforcement issued the badge he got very nasty and threatened me again. I had talked to a agent with the FBI that I have dealt with for my job about this and he told me just what is being told here. IT IS A SCAM. I did tell them I had a talk with the FBI and they hung up on me.

I too am a victim of Marval and Associates. When I asked who they were collecting for, they would not provide me with the information. By law, if you request a creditor to supply you with the information on the original debt, they MUST do it, if they won't, then don't speak to them...Marval And Associates threatened to come to my work and arrest me, even told me there was a warrant out for my arrest, etc...which is entirely against the law...they try to scare people into paying a debt that may or may not be valid...do not do business with them

I received my one and only call from these people 1/6/2011. I spoke with a Mrs Thompson who stated that this was regarding a civil suit involving my social security number. I asked her to send a copy of the original debt, and she stated that I already knew all about it and that the previous debt collector had sent me letters(I never received any). She told me that if payment or an arrangement was not made that she was going to tell the arbitration department to proceed with the lawsuit and that papers had been filed on 1/5/2011. I told her I would only be able to pay half but not until the 28th. She stated that payment had to be post dated with a check or credit card. I asked her to hold on while I got my debit card and then said i don't really like to give the number out over the phone. She then said that by refusing to give her the debit card number it was going in as a refusal to pay. I told her I never refused to pay and then she proceeded to argue with me saying why are you arguing with me I am not your girlfriend. I then asked to speak to a supervisor, she said she was one. I asked to speak to her boss, she said no, and I said you are refusing to let me speak to your boss? She said yes. I proceeded to argue with her until she said hold on let me see if anyone wants to speak with you. She came back to the line and said I would have to speak to her bosses voice mail. I said fine. She said how do you intend on handling this debt? I said I want to speak to your boss first, she said if you think you're going to get me fired you're not and then said she was not going to waste her bosses time with me and that the call was going nowhere and she was going to tell them to proceed with the lawsuit. I hung up and called right back and asked the operator to put me thru to Mrs Thompsons boss. Mrs Thompson came back on the line and said I would not be speaking with anyone else in the department but her and that I needed to quit playing on the phone. Did I mention today was the first day I have ever heard from these people? And now they are suing me? Is this crap even legal?

I got a call today at my workplace from these bottom feeders.  They left a humiliating and aggressive message with my co-worker, who told the caller they were inappropriate.  They bullied my co-worker about my schedule and personal information (I was not at work at that time).

When I returned the phone call, I was told several times the phone call would be recorded, but they were the ones who were rude, humiliating and demeaning.  I asked several times to speak with a supervisor, to which they handed me off to people who were incredibly unprofessional and assenine, who were likely co-workers, and no one in a supervisory position.  I asked about the identity of the CFO, CEO, Director, etc, to which they fluffed around.

This outfit disregards any request for civility.  They act as if the Fair Debt Collection Act does not exist.  I never intended to skip paying on my debt. I've made arrangements with the debtor, but this outfit prefers to bully and humiliate people to gain a profit.  My debt is not close to what the scumbags quoted me.  

Lastly, this is a fantastic lesson to learn for anyone considering check loans.  First, don't borrow money.  Second, don't borrow money from a check joint.  Third,  don't ever borrow money you can't afford to pay back (banking on over time).  You will die a painful death.

i got a phone call fromthese people on march 21,2011.Saying i owe a payday loan debt which has been paid off and on top of that the company there saying that i owe the money took more money out of my acct then what the loan was worth and i got a refund back from the company.So in my opion these is a scam they need to get there facts straigt before they call people and know the truth.These companys like these these r crazy and think people r stupid really people geta life all my bills r paid off and caught up so i shouldnt be gettin calls on nothing like these.

you are a [***] old man rivers, you provide your work number as a number on your formal application stating that if you did not return any phone calls that were made to your primary number that they have permission to contact you at work so before you start your whole fdcpa bs get your facts right. and this agency has an attourney prescent in the office and they purchase accounts therefore they own and have all rights to your account meaning they can take any legal or lawful action necessary to collect the debt. it's called a 1st party attorney collection agency. when a attorney is prescent in the company they can SUE you for not paying your bill. they can have you served moron
