When I called the number thinking that something was wrong with my account, the foreign voice immediately asked for my ENTIRE SS# before even asking for my name, I declined. He then asked for the LAST FOUR DIGITS of my SS#, I declined. He then asked me if I have a password on my Account… He did not seem to know that I did. so I hung up on him And immediately called the 800# on my bill.
They immediately knew my name from their caller id they had on their computer system. And asked me to verify my account number which they already knew too.
They said this is a phishing scam and to report it immediately by
Forwarding the txt message to:
submitphishing@citi.com
which I did, and I got a confirmation txt back that my message was received. - tickedoffami replies to BIGno, it is not... Shell told me that it is a phishing scam
- Emily G.I thought it was a phishing scam. I didn't give any of my personal info but went online instead. It is Citi bank. I was late on a payment. But if you are wary and don't want to do it over the phone just log on to the website and take care of your business there.

I recently had to open a GoodYear account, so I thought it was referring to that. I called, & the guy immediately asks for my account number, which I don't have. Then he asked for my name, which I gave, but he didn't ask for a spelling. Then he asked for the last four of my SSN. It sounded like TV was on in the background. He said I owed $61 dollars, that I was sent a bill in April & once again in May. Which I hadn't received. He kept complaining about how slow his computer was going. Then he asked if I wanted to pay over the phone & when I tried to answer, the phone cut out as if signal was lost. My signal was fine, as if he was using a cell phone.- Caller: CitiCard

- Don'tDoItReceived a text about a Citi account with Ford sep 2013. I recently purchased a Ford. The guy on the other end kept saying account was delinquent and wanted a payment using a debit card. I questioned using a debit card and not a credt card if account is delinquent. He said I should call back later when I have a debit card to pay. NEVER pay for Anything using a debit card over the phone or online. This is a scam text. Ignore and delete text.
- scams go awayAccording to Verizon this phone # does not come up as a citicard phone number. Don't give them info, if you have an account call number on your card to make sure you are actually talking to Citicard. I had # blocked
- Caller: citicards
- Jeff in HoustonI received a similar text and came here to look at comments. I then called the number on the back of my Shell card and the service rep said that it was in fact a number from CitiBank.
This is not a phish scam number, but a legitimate callback number from Citi (according to the rep I spoke with by dialing the number on my cc).- Caller: Citi Bank

- Niki C.Ive been getting multiple call from random #'s that I have to block. I do not call back any # unless they leave voicemail. I look up every # on here, and pretty much every single one is a scam #. I've blocked 3 #'s and just received a text that says:
Citibank free MSG. Please call 877-259-5778 about your BIG O TIRE account. To end servicing texts reply QUIT.
The big o credit card is issued by citibank.
I just recently got a BIG O TIRE account and just made the first payment couple weeks ago. Anyways, my mom said my bill came in and im current so not to call them. plus, the # i call to make the payment is not this #. ANND when you look up Citibank, none of their 2 #'s to call is this #. SO i say YES this is a scamming number!- Caller: Citibank

- KattI called Goodyear using the number on my billing statement. They said I was overdue, so possibly not a scam. But everyone, check your bills! My payment is sent automatically by my bank monthly, but Citi processed it late, then charged me an over the limit charge. So, in a way, I think there is a greater Citibank scam going on here. I will be closing this account once it is paid off.
