Called by Pathology & Medical Lab Diagno
Called husband about medical bill and directed us to a sketchy-looking billing site, ezmedinfo.com. We pay all medical bills in cash, and have no outstanding medical bills and haven't received any in the mail (all of our providers have our current address, so any outstanding bills should go directly to us). When we called the number back, the representative could not give us any information about our bill without providing a birth date first. They also couldn't tell us which doctors we worked with in the area we live in (which is in a different state than Pathology and Medical Lab Diagnostic Services).

We're currently calling every medical provider we've done business with in the last year to make sure they haven't been hacked.

I have no medical bills, so nobody should harass me with unpaid medical bills.

They called and said I owe money and this is the third time they called and now they are going to use a collection agency.  This is a scam.

Well good.  So when the collection agency calls (you have more rights when it goes into a collection agency than you do with the original creditor), talk to them and simply tell them to send you the dunning letter which should contain this:

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Then when you get it do this:

You need to send them a certified, return receipt debt validation letter (think of it as the best $6.47 you ever invested).  Also send it first class mail in case no one will sign for it.  Make a notion of that fact at the bottom of the letter.  You also need to report them to the proper agencies to which I have provided links to.  Then you need to go out and get a consumer lawyer to sue them on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket) and let them pay you for the harassment.  If everyone did these three things, these crooks would be bankrupt and we would all be the richer for it.  Use these web sites to find an attorney in your state that will probably take the case on a contingency basis (no money out of your pocket up front):  http://www.consumeradvocates.org/

Read up on your rights here and also make a complaint at this government site:  http://www.consumerfinance.gov/

Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

This company is a scam. I've researched it with LEO. Somehow they get SOME of your info from your hospital visit and bill about $40 or so. They assume you'll pay that and it looks valid, but it's not. Your ER copay is ALL you pay. Their big scam is for lab services. The hospital does its own blood/urine tests, they don't use other people. The billing scam has a mailbox in Indianapolis, Indiana. They also ask you for some info to "identify yourself" because they couldn't get the info they need to finish your profile. DON'T PAY THEM, NO MATTER IF THEY THREATEN TO SEND IT TO COLLECTIONS. I TOLD THE GIRL "JAMIE" THAT THE POLICE WERE INVESTIGATING THE COMPANY AND THAT I COULDN'T HELP HER WHEN SHE GOT ARRESTED. SHE HUNG UP THEN AND THERE. THEY KNOW THEY ARE SCUM.

The text says that I have an online statement that is now available and has a link that takes you to a sketchy looking website. I have great health insurance and all of my doctors bill me through the mail. I've never received 1 piece of mail from this so called "company". It seems very fishy.

Received an email from this entity claiming it was from services received from Rockledge Regional Medical. Other than receiving a Covid shot there, I have NEVER been to this particular facility. Never had any lab work done.
They also claim that you can "chat" with them at mydocbill.com/pld1 or email at pld1billing@mydoc bill.com. the email address I received was from noreply@billing.mydocbill.com
