Same as above.   When you call back the number goes to a voicemail.   They are calling my work phone and relatives.  I don't know how to get them to stop.    I do not have any pending fraud claims.

Debt scamming operation.  Fraud is a crime.  If you were suspected of committing fraud, you'd have been interviewed on a face-to-face basis by members of law enforcement.  You would certainly NOT have heard about it from some scammery scummery debt collector who cold calls you and starts demanding money.  Debt collectors have nothing to do with fraud cases or law enforcement.  Ignore and block the calls.

Just because someone on the phone calling you says you owe a debt does not mean you actually owe it.

If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:

    1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
    2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
    3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  dime until the debt is validated

Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply ignore them and block their calls.

If they are bothering you, report them:

http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0149-debt-collection (Threatening civil proceedings with no intent to follow through, or threatening criminal process in order to collect a civil debt is a  violation of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.)

Also contact your local attorney general

If they continue to bother you,  and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

You'll probably have to yell at them and talk over them.  Tell 'em  no scammy debt collector is going to push you around.

You have to get tuff with these people because,  being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking).   the only thing they understand.

Care to tell us what company did this horrible thing to you?  Seriously do you think anyone believes you?  I guess you did not know process servers do not warn you  & phone calls mean nothing.

    SHILL ALERT!

Oh, you weren't served at work or anywhere else and you know it. Process servers don't call in advance and they don't give you the option to buy your way out of being served. Shill alert!

Did you know that debt collectors have a proven history of harassing innocent people by calling outdated numbers? I am here to tell inform you that indeed they do.
I know this is a fact because it happened to me.

    Nope. It's not the consumer's burden to call anyone. It's the debt collectors burden to prove the debt is real, and follow the law;
All debt collectors are required by law to send you a DEBT VALIDATION. This is sent through the USPS ONLY (email, text, faxes, carrier pigeons, smoke signals...none of those count) and state when you incurred the debt, to whom you owe the original debt, and how to proceed should you not recognize the amount.
This must be sent within 5 days of the first time the company attempts to contact you.
REAL DEBT COLLECTORS SEND THIS. Scammers do not.

A few other things to know-
-You cannot be arrested for ordinary debt in the United States.
-Process servers do not call in advance. They only get paid if they deliver you papers the court (not a private company) has ordered be delivered, and if you flee, they don't get paid. Therefore, they do not call ahead of their arrival.
-Likewise, officers do not call you to tell you they will be arresting you. Why would they?

This link contains all the rules debt collectors must follow, and includes links where you can report criminals who choose not to follow the law.

Then you should be able to tell us the legal name of the company suing you, their legal address, their attorney's name and his bar number.  Of course you won't because you don't want anyone to know where your boss has his illegal debt collection set up.  We all know that you are a shill and as usual an extremely poor one.  Or you can prove you are not a shill by supplying the information I asked for.

I've received (note corrected spelling) collection calls which violated my rights in several ways. Well, (and not "we will") the agency thought it was no scam, but I actually knew the law and kept good records. I was harassed but tried to settle quietly. I had them served through their registered agent because they didn't respond. The agency burned a couple grand on a law firm and paid me double what I'd wanted in settlement pre-suit. All I have to say is (rather than "says") y'all better have your house counsel explain the laws before someone finds out what's really going on in your fraud shop and it becomes a serious matter for you.
