They asked to speak with someone by using their first name only (instead of "Mr." or "Mrs." whatever the person's last name is.. was a bit informal for a research firm) and said they were a research firm. I'm in Pennsylvania. Still researching number. I could just be paranoid, but i'm definately annoyed..

Who calls from this number?  I believe it is some type of collection agency.  They are calling for people who no longer have the number that I now have.   They don't seem to believe me when I tell them that the people who they are calling must have had this number before it was given to me and to please stop calling.  It is terrible to be given a number that was a former number for a bunch of "deadbeats"
