- PrincessPena replies to BlueberryJuniper| 1 replyI just called the number listed on the back of my card, as you stated we should do, and they DID NOT "tell me the same thing". BCBS representative was unsure of what you were speaking about and put me on hold so he could ask his supervisor, who asked their supervisor, who asked their supervisor and so on. After an 18 minute phone conversation, I was advised NOT to respond to the message what so ever. They informed me BCBS does not make private calls for information verification purposes. Their protocol states "it is solely the insurance carrier, or carrier’s employer, responsibility to notify BCBS of any personal changes, i.e. address change, phone number changes, coverage changes, etc. So, if you truly worked for BCBS(IL), you would have known your post was not protocol... EVERYONE DO NOT CALL THIS NUMBER BACK!
- (^_^)Just got the call
They knew my name and
they kept on talking
I hung up because
I found out that this number is just a spammer.- Caller: BCBS
- Anonym replies to BlueberryJuniperSpammer helping Spam
- Tom replies to PrincessPenaI too just called the number on the back of my card, and I also was advised not to respond to the call! That is NOT THE WAY BCBS DOES BUSINESS!!! I'm never calling back they are B.S. SCAMMERS, stay away from them.
- Augustwest replies to hello| 4 repliesYou english bad bc you not learned skool. Haha. Seriously though, it is awful. You never finished high school did you? "Bc" does not mean "because", especially in a thread about blue cross. If they were to do it through email, no one would respond. It was pretty clearly explained in that previous post. Do what most people do. Dont answer the phone when its an 877 number. YOU'RE not too bright. Learn to spell, use grammer, throw out the excessive punctation, and if you are going to abbreviate something, try not to look like an idiot while doing so.
- JR001I received this phone call message, and so I saved the info and called BCBS and they said that it was real and legitimate. So I called the number back and all they want to know is "receiving information preferences". And also the BCBS representative told me that it is sent to all members regardless if you've already set preferences or not.
- Caller: BCBS
- JenGot 2 calls from this number. I called BCBS and they told me it was a program to inform members of future information. I have the option to receive my billing info via text messages or email if I sign up. They confirmed the call was legit. Not sure if they're hiding something because the guy I spoke to sounded unsure?
- Just Saying replies to Augustwest| 1 replyBefore you start telling someone to mind their "grammer" and "punctation", you might follow your own advice so YOU don't look like the idiot.
- Dumass replies to Just SayingIf your attention span would have allowed you to read past the third line, I think even you would have figured out they were mocking the original poster......
- Sick O'Spam replies to Sick O'SpamReceived same message last week, and again today, 4/12/13. (Not calling back.)
SHAME ON YOU, BCBS, FOR NOT RESOLVING/ADDRESSING THIS!!!! - RickGot similar voice mail and left this phone number, claiming to be BCBS and left a reference number if I call from another phone line. This was essentially a "robo-call" and thought it odd that BCBS would not have a live person call. Never called back. Seems suspicious.
- Caller: They claim Blue Cross Blue Shield
- Ethereal Glider replies to AugustwestObviously you get a great deal of satisfaction belittling people online. I bet you're the type that finds joy (orgasmic) thinking you are far superior grammatically to everyone. No one likes a smarta$$. In fact, we(the unwashed masses of grammar) find your smugness a trite repulsive. Get a life and just observe for a while. You might just learn something.
- ALCalled BCBS and they said it was a legit system that they were using to update their system with name, emails, etc.
- LRReceived this call today. I called back and it was an automated request from BC/BS asking how you would like to receive communication from them. Email vs phone vs mail. You speak your reply and they update your preferences.
- Caller: BC/BS
- Just meI received a call from this number today. After reading all these messages and seeing how long ago these were I was hesitant to call back. I did call the number back and now the messages are linked to BCBS and they are related to applications with the government healthcare system. So if you've received a letter recently from the government - this is just a reminder that you need to submit any info that may have been missing so you don't interrupt your healthcare coverage. So it was a not a scam phone call.
- Caller: BCBS of TX

- Helpico replies to AugustwestFor some people English is 2nd, 3rd, or even 4th language. If you understand what they say, you may help them correct some abbreviations. The brightness is very questionable under the above circumstances. Capisce? Муле такова.
- Huugot called from this number two times. Just said BCBS but didn't left any further message.
- Trish replies to IreneThis is a legitimate number from Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Illinois. It is an automated message for bill payments and gives you information on the different ways you can pay your bill.
- DBThe phone number is for SEO Arbiter, one of a million search engine optimization companies that basically sell snake oil.
However, I wasn't contacted by them by phone; they seem to be trying a new tactic - Google Calendar meeting invitations by email. I played their game and responded to them using a different email address, and not by utilizing their meeting invitation. Instead, I sent them a standard email asking them to call me at the number I provided, which is the number for a local UFO cult.
Seriously.- Caller: SEO Arbiter
