Received a text containing my HOME ADDRESS and this phone number saying that they missed delivering something to me. I called the number and I was asked for the last 4 of my SS# regarding a cash advance from 2013.
DEFINITELY a scam.

Received a text from a collection agency. called, verified my information and I was able to set up monthly payment towards the balance. past due medical account I forgot all about.

So, you are paying to every text message? Good to know.
I don't even answer to text messages, I am forwarding them all to 7726 and block them.
Must be some decent way to verify debt, like on the paper or in the mail?

Sorry, but only a fool would give money to an UNKNOWN company via a text message. Shills are stupid in thinking people would just believe it is ok to give some random person money just because they say you owe money.

So you forgot about all of those paper bills and letters you got in the mail?  Hmm, let's see how truthful your post is.  Text messages are illegal for the collection of debt.  So, they violated the law?  Yeah, that would be a company that I would want to deal with.  Tell you what.  How about you give us the name and address of this debt collector?  Come to think of it why did you leave that out of your post?
