I'm french speaking, from Amos, Quebec, Canada. - This is ridiculous replies to Godpiou| 3 repliesCalled us (on a cellphone) twice today....no IDEA who they are. We called back....they asked us to select a language, then offered us the option of 'signing up for a calling list' - whatever that means. We are probably going to get calls every twenty minutes now. Shouldn't have called back!
- Sergiy| 1 replyCalling me a couple of times a day looking for someone I don't even know. Probably collections for someone who gave them a false phone number. I keep telling them there's no such person here, they keep calling.

Company: Global Crossing
Contact Number: 800-466-4600
Website: www.globalcrossing.com
Description: Global Crossing provides an integrated and interoperable suite of IP and legacy services including IP VPN Service, VoIP Service and IP Video.
I had a look at the web site & I am not sure why they would call individuals unless maybe they are one of those companies that tracks when and when a person does not answer the telephone and sells the information to telemarketers.- Caller: Global Crossing
- Ghost7 replies to This is ridiculous| 2 repliesIt's a "Do Not Call List". By law they are to remove your number from their directory if you request it. I'll find out over the next couple days if it worked.
- customertelephone rings, i answered the call.
someone, called me by name on behalf of canadian credit card company i'm actively use, obviously i did not hang up right away. they offered a credit watch alert (or something similar) which apparently suppose to 100% protect me in case of possible identity theft. they offered this service not only for their "credit company" but also for all other visa's / mc/ etc i may potentially use. i told them to send me a package to read and they asked for the address verification.
that surprises me as just a couple days ago i called that credit company office to change my address in their records as i moved recently. at once i also verified the address change for the same company online.
so, instead of telling the lady my new address, i told her to send a package to the address they should have in their system. she then replied that the package will be sent to my previous address, where i no longer live.
so, their company rep. does not know my new address.
after i hang up, i've checked caller id on another (new model) telephone in the house, there caller's company was displayed as a "long distance".
then obviously i searched for that caller id (877-288-1437) on internet...
my name, (old) address and phone number they can easily get from old yellow pages.
beware of fraud...- Caller: Long Distance

I called back and asked to be on thei Do Not Call List. We'll see if it works. If it does not, I will contact the American FCC (I think the USA have a Do Not Call List) as the CRTC in Canada cannot touch them. - MeOttawaCanada replies to Ghost7| 1 replyDid it work?

- Call type: Telemarketer
- does not matterCalled no one on the other end
- Does not matterCalled again to day unknown why????????
- MikeI am *RREEAALLYY* pissed off with these guys. For days on end, they call me, nothing on the other end. Then I call that number back, and I go through the procedure of removing my number from their list.
First off, in Canada it is against the law to do spamming like this. It's an unsolicited call and Canada has an official government regulated do-not-call list. These guys are probably calling from the US or India to be blatantly ignoring Canada's laws.
Ok, so yesterday I'm supposedly on their do not call list, and what happens? Today they called, yet again. There is just no stopping these people.
I clearly say "hello" to make sure their computer system recognizes that I answered the phone correctly, and now instead of it going dead on the other end, I get a drone on the phone.
I immediately told them they are breaking the law, and to not call me again.
I am so over the top upset with these [***] it aint funny!
Does *anyone* know what I can do to get them to STOP calling me?
The government do-not-call list doesn't work, their own list doesn't work, they just keeping calling and calling - I'm going NUTS! - gripper| 1 replycalls to say car warranty has expired . imparative we contact them. continuous calls 2 or 3 times a day. 7 days a week.
