For those annoying call with the person who talks in a foreign accent that you cannot understand.  DO THIS:  "I want to speak to a representative of Canada or the USA."   Do not take no for an answer.  Repeat if necessary.  They have to ablige you.   That's what I do now and I have very little annoying calls now.

All you have to say to people who speak with a foreign accent you can barely understand is,  "I wish to speak to your representative from Canada or the USA."   They don't want to but you must insist.  They have to do this.  I have had less calls since I started doing this.  Course they use different #'s.  But, until our own CRTC ( hearsay)  quits selling our #'s overseas, I can't see how this is going to stop.

    They are still going strong.
About 13-15 calls from this number in 18 days.
No one says a word, and we get disconnected after my second 'hello'.

    Attention "c" and others...
I have an unlisted number so that will not help. Maybe if everyone keeps calling their phone line supplier as many times per day then they might do something. Everyone should call as much as they can everyday!!!!

I got this call this morning, from someone who barely spoke English.  He told me about my HBC-Zellers (?) credit card and that I need a protection policy to go with it. Ummm, what's an HBC-Zellers? He continues on about the company and how great it is to have a credit card with them and that I can shop all over the country from Montreal to Vancouver.  Stop right there, I live in PA, USA. Not Canada. In fact, after checking my passport I've never been to Canada. Europe, Asia, and South America but never Canada. I asked why he would attempt to sell a credit card protection plan to someone in the US who doesn't have the credit card that he wants to protect. The stunned silence on the line proved that he had no clue he was talking to someone outside Canada. Then he got nasty. After taking his name, I'm hoping it's the real name, and any information he was willing to give me, I called HBC-Zellers. My name and number "should" be off their list, some time before next year, hopefully. I have to deal with this BS from idiots in the US, I shouldn't have to add a Canadian SPAM credit card scheme to my list of annoying and insulting telemarketers. What's going on? And what exactly is an HBC-Zellers? And why would they start calling people in the US?
